I got this nice cam for just 80€. It has some flaws, but none does affect me Smile

1. The autofocus is not working at all.
2. The display inside the viewfinder is not working.(the green spot at the bottom inside the viewfinder is not working).
3. The flash is not working, and when opened up, freezes the cam. But the hotshoe is working Smile
4. Av mode doesn't work. (Pictures come out black always).

What it does work:
The focusing spot in the middle of the viewfinder, lights when in focus.
M mode works fine.
The green button to measure the light is also working.
The top LCD works as well.
Back LCD and menues work fine.

All in all, the basic functions I need for MFLenses are working great!.

Some pictures of the cam (that is in an incredible good shape!) with the nice Volna-3 I got from Lucispictor some time ago and that is my preferred portrait lens:

And some samples from a session with Martina, the little daughter of my friend Jorgekarras, with this combo (K200D + Volna-3):

Regards.
Jes.

Nice Camera,It is weather sealed so for 80euro a nice buy.It is the camera I use...how do you like the weight?
I never use the flash which I think is the weakest point on this camera.Basically all the important bits are working so again a really good buy! Cool

The best batteries for this camera are the Sanyo eneloop kind some other rechargable batteries don't work in it.

You're right, Mo. My perfect cam Smile . Thanks for your comment.

For the batteries, I use the ones I had for the Sigma SD9, (the GP Recyko+, that are similar to the Eneloop). They don't lose the charge and last a lot.

Weight is right, not as light as an EVIL. But I do prefer to feel some mass in my hands. My feeling is that some weight trends to stabilize the cam when shooting.

Regards.
Jes.

Carsten,
I'm very grateful for the lens, has turned to be my preferred portrait one. Also good for approximations, I have yet to try as a "product shot" lens. Along the Jupiter-9 silver are the two lenses I use more.
I'm waiting for a PK adapter, to be able to try it on the NEX.

Regards,
Jes.

You are right. She's the perfect model: never looks at the cam, ignores me and she's extremely expressive. I enjoyed a lot that session, we were at the Ciutadella Park, near the Barcelona seaside.

Congrats for the bargain, Jes!
That Volna has made quite an European tour, it used to be my lens a few years ago! Very Happy

Really?. That's nice to know... A lens with pedigree!! Very Happy

Now I know why it's so well cared.

I can tell you Carsten did also a good job taking great care of the lens, it's still mint like new Smile
Currently is my favourite portrait lens, (having close behind the Jupiter-9 silver that I got from Martin).

Regards,
Jes.

Yes, for sure!.
Now I'm facing the rude reality: On the other cams I own, I only use the same basic functions that I use on this one...
Maybe if nobody had told me the defects, I'd have never noticed them Wink

Thanks for commenting Smile
Regards,
Jes.

yes, the rude reality, this is the reason I don't give much importance to camera software, it is not a video game, the action is not inside but outside of the box
