They are not so uncommon, and unless it is sold complete, they don't reach high prices

wished I had taken a better pic, really, but I wanted to have ( most of my Taks.. ) together in one photo before they will be dispersed again.
soon I will hit the road and only a few can go with me, the others will remain stored in a cupboard..which is a pity. Some I will lend to friends, the f2/35mm and f2.8/105 Super Taks are already with a friend for him to use while I am away.
if anybody is interested I would also sell a few, certainly the S-M-C 3.5/24mm, also the S-M-C f4/200, both near mint. Anybody interested please PM me _________________ my photos on flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kuuan/collections |

I would like to begin gathering a decent (but smaller) collection for myself, but I keep running into the cost. Dang. I remember 'back in the day' when I was doing good if I could sell a 50/1.4 Super Tak for $40US. I guess those days are gone forever. _________________ Michael

Willi did, you commented too, so you must remember his thread:
http://www.digicamclub.de/showthread.php/12865-Asahi-2.3-35-Auto-Takumar-M42x1-DCCMFTEST?highlight=takumar+35mm
He liked it's use, also it's rendering but found the corners to be too soft and it flaring very easily, that in conclusion it rather is for collectors than a 'tool':
hope someone else will share her/his experience _________________ my photos on flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kuuan/collections |

Right, thanks. Bit with more than 20.000 posts in my three most active boards, I definitely do not remember each post. _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

yes Carsten, it is a very beautiful lens!
IMO there are quite a few early Taks that are very beautiful,
outstanding performers and compared to the f2.3/35 very small ( which I personally like a lot, it's big size had made me use my f2.3/35 little ) and cost little, e.g.
Auto Tak f2/55mm
the preset f2.8/105 shown in my last post and the preset Tak 3.5/135mm
best greetings,
Andreas _________________ my photos on flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kuuan/collections |

your question might be in jest, but I try to answer nevertheless:
my lifestyle, most of the time, limits me to just a dozen or so:
9 months out of the year I am a 'globetrotter' and can only carry that many lenses. The remaining 3 months I am quite busy, but if time permits have much fun using some of the others.
Last two years I carried about 12 to start with and then acquired more during my travels.
Lenses make for the biggest part of my luggage and this year I 'only' carry 8. Some lenses I left behind in locations that I know that I will be staying again so actually often have more than these 8 at my disposal.
Takumars I have too many but some are for collecting resp. to compare their performance. Every year I spend some time in Japan where my favorite pasttime is hunting used lenses. Each time in Japan I have to restrict myself very much to not buy even more, usually luggage weight and fear from customs, did I carry to many, make me restrain. Still I accumulated some which I will sell eventually. Takumars are readily available and of some I actually have two or three copies.
In the quest to find the ideal set for my travels I bought quite a few 24, 28 and 35mm lenses from different makers too.
Some will be sold again but I do not feel any hurry.
If I was living in one place permanently I am certain that I would own quite a few more
Sometimes I dream of a permanent home just so that I can walk up to a central cupboard displaying all my gear to pick the chosen for the day
when I go out shooting I usually carry 2 or 3.
( right now, in the city, Saigon, I mostly use the Mir 47K f2.5/20mm and also carry the AF Pentax FAf2/35mm and S-M-C Takumar f1.4/50mm ) _________________ my photos on flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kuuan/collections |
