Some time ago I got a Schneider -Kreuznach lens. You might remember that this one one of the big brands that I did not have.

But it was a, doubtlessly beautiful, Componar 4.5/80 which I planned to use on my bellows - similar to my Wilon 4.5/105.
The Componar is a gorgeous lens, but used with my bellows only good for close-up shots. You can't focus beyond about 2 meters. Sad

Today I have received my first "real" Schneider-Kreuznach!
It's the lens with probably the longest name of all my lenses.
Now, listen to this:

Schneider-Kreuznach Rollei SL - Tele Xenar 3.5/135
(Rollei QBM mount)

Anyway, it's also a very beautiful lens and it feels great on my cams. Its design fits perfectly to my Rollei Planar 1.8/50.

This is the lens:

This is what it looks like on me EOS 600 (my standard "model"):

And on my EOS 40D:

I don't get infinity focus, but can focus to about 200 meters, so not really a problem.

The first quick snaps look very promising. I hope that I can play around with it on the weekend.

Congratulations!
It should be the same as the Tele-Tessar, so quite a sharp lens with a good bokeh. You will enjoy it.

I don't really care who made it, it looks just gorgeous! Wink
And one important point for me liking lenses is the way a lens looks, not only how it performs. I am a lens aesthete. Embarassed

Really handsome when compared to CZ Rolleis and Rollinars Smile
Can't Rollei-QBM adapters focus to infinity on EOS?

Well, there are some sellers who claim that their adapters will focus on infinity but my two different adapters can't.
But they reach far enough. Wink

I would suggest this.
Buy a couple of cheap adapters and one good one from Kindai ($125-$175).
The Kindai adapter reaches infinity on the 2 lenses I have 35 & 85mm.
You will not always need infinity. No sense in buying a bunch of expensive adapters Cool

Congratulation Carsten. It looks gorgeous. Smile

Now, let see some pictures as I had also bidded and lost on similar lens on US eBay. I am almost certain that the pictures will be more gorgeous than its look.

GORGEOUS output! The colors strike me as very true to life. No sense even saying much about the sharpness, as this lens seems to be in the high-end of sharpness, even in the corners.

The lens itself has a style of design that is fabulously pleasing to the eye.

The 100% crop is incredible to me.

Thanks. I also like the lens.
I guess it is not without reason that Schneider-Kreuznach was considered to be No.3 of the German manufacturers behind Leitz and Zeiss.

What I like of Schenider-Kreuznach is their very personal bokeh. I like it a lot and the Tele-Xenar is no exception. They also have great color rendition. Xenar and Tele-Xenar are very sharp while Xenon and Curtagons have a more soft contrast (not less detail, just less micro-contrast). A good reason to buy them is their personality as I said, they're no copies of other ones' lenses.

Carsten,

Do you mean you don't use the 350D light meter and apply the "Sunny F16 instead?..
