I own REVUEFLEX TL25. I think it's very cool looking. Both variants presented here:

Some more links and nice photos:

Close contender: PORST reflex CX Serie: http://www.kamera-geschichte.de/files/porst_hausmarken_frameset_d.htm

What is your top Pentacon M42 SLR design?

Never seen this, probably because never sold in UK ! But to be really honest, I prefer the 'knife-edge' lines of the usual MTL family . . . I actually own a couple of them.

I think that Revue's quite ugly, the tall thinner prism housing doesn't look right to me.

Nice cameras Attila.

I've given up looking for a perfect working FX.

I like the FX too, both I had worked perfectly, not very nice cameras to use though, the viewfinder is nest to useless for focussing, I had to use hyperfocal.

Most of them has leaks on curtain, hard to find without that, but not so hard to fix it with little paint drop. Otherways I found frequently working ones. I have several ones I think.

Here's some of my Praktica porn. Originally it was the porn for Soligor, so the camera is a bit OOF.

No that is not the case.
My top nostalgia camera is the Minolta XE-1, that replaced my SRT101 in the seventies. It is still my all time favorite!
In the sixties I was not too much impressed by Praktica Nova with Domiplan and have chosen for Minolta SR1.
I got interested in Praktica cameras later because of M42 lenses that I could fit on my DSLR. And the B-series lenses don't fit Laughing Laughing Laughing

Well, my favourite Praktica is the one in my avatar. Anyone recognise it? Bonus points awarded if you can tell who owned it before me (he's a regular here)..

My prefer praltica is the mtl5. My nostalgic cam, the alpa 10 D. I never had in my hands one of FX series. Seems to be solid.

Well I only got a MTL3 and MTL5 because they were attached to the lenses I wanted but would never have bought any M42 Praktica otherwise, but in saying that......they are a good solid, basic camera and would recommend them to beginners esp as being very cheap to buy.

Though I don't own a praktica, personally I think the VLC 2 is kind of cool, especially with the waistlevel finder.
(I almost bought one not too long ago)

I cannot believe you don't like round shapes of my TL25:

I admit there are some strong contenders Smile.

No doubt those rounded and smoothed out corners add beauty to the camera. Smile

In the Porst link, I like the first in the Porst Reflex series. Nice lines. I wonder what that window is
that looks like a rangefinder viewing window? Question

PostPosted: Mon Jul 16, 2012 4:08 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

That's a rebadged Praktina IIa Larry, the window is a direct viewer, not sure what they intended you to use it for, maybe fast action as the mirror wasn't instant return.
