So full of life, from young to old. Smile

I really like the bit of magenta undertones in the last black and white image. Beautifully done.

#4, 6 and 8 for me, please.

thank you Excalibur, poilu, mmelvis, Laurance and Himself for looking and your kind comments.

@ Excalibur / mmelvis: ha, #7, my favorite too. Also because it was at night indoors, at an event, very fast and spontaneous, didn't nail the focus perfectly well, but I was very pleased to have 'caught' this moment and how it came out

@poilu: oh, thank's. #5 is the only one I had not uploaded to my flickr stream. Your comment made me decide that I shall upload it though, it fits most what I sometimes maintain to be trying to do, that is to show the typical in the sense of the 'normal', and less the 'special'

@ Laurence: for 'my' spontaneous portraits on the road usually I don't have the chance to put the 'model' in the 'right light' but have to do with the lighting as it presents itself.
The light on the face of the girl on #8 wasn't very good. I am not so savvy PPing, find it easier to brighten up the face in B&W, and in this case played with the tones too, glad that you like them!

@ Himself, #4, 6 and 8 ..the most 'static', 'posed' ones Wink here in Asia it is such a joy to take photos of people posing!

best greetings,
Andreas

And very elegant formally.
Classic, if this word may have a meaning in photography.

thank you Orio and Yebisu.

These two photos strengthened my resolve to best simply ask people if I may take their photo. I very much like 'classic portraits' where people pose with much composure, resolve and pride sometimes in front of their most coveted possessions, a horse, a cart.

I am fascinated by the attitude with which people in this part of the world pose and by how well they do it

#5 and #8 are the best. #8 could have been taken 100 years ago (ok, maybe the bag is too fancy).

#5 and #8.

#5 is best. Illustrates a generation of rapid changes.
#8 is just natural beauty.

very astute and valid observation hoanpham!
I wonder how much this can be seen by people who don't know the place. Many times the context adds a lot of meaning, I have learned that viewers who don't know a place most often can't see those

which, I better explain, should NOT imply that I know the place very well, I don't, just barely well enough to be able to relate to hoanphams observation

a recent, obvious example how someone easily misunderstands a photo / video if he doesn't know the place: Someone commented on a short video of mine, of a street corner late evening in Saigon, that he was surprised by the many motorcycles. Anybody who knows Saigon knows that it is showing the exact opposite, an exceptionally quiet street corner remarkable for less motorcycles than to be expected.
