he says they have UV filters of 43mm and 46mm but that's not true, I searched for them but they don't sell them Evil or Very Mad

The 43, 46 and 95mm UV filters are listed in the filter brochure but the filter page shows those three diameters as unavailable.

Maybe they've not released them yet...?

Maybe. Don't know, I searched for 43 and 46 mm uv filters just the other day, because I am really disappointed with my B+W,
but I could not find them in the Zeiss store.

What sort of issues are you having with the B+W ones?
i use them for years now with great results in normal conditions.
Some flaring when the lens would otherwise flare on it's own with no filter.

I've just had a look on Robert White and they don't list those diameters either.

Heliopan list 43 and 46mm UVs though.

I had the B+W mounted on my Biogon 2/35 last month for one afternoon, I got horrible flares in many photos
as soon as I angled the camera to less than 90° in respect of sunlight
I never had this problem without the filter, before and after.
My experience with B+W was also good in the past. Maybe they have lowered their quality standard recently.
The 43mm filter I used is of the new "digital" type.

Lloyd's blog (link in the earlier thread) tells us that the 43 & 46 mm filters have only just be announced by Zeiss and that they are not in the shops yet.

I have no experience with Heliopans.
I am more inclined to try with a T* filter though, if they become available.

Heliopan filters are generally considered to be an alternative to B+W which may not be what you want... Laughing

I've got a 105mm Heliopan MC C-POL myself which is very very good.

You might just have to wait and see if Zeiss release the UV filters in the diameters you want. I have to admit, I wouldn't mind trying them myself.

In previous years, Lloyd Chambers has also bashed some Zeiss lenses and objectively pointed out flaws in their design, but given the fact that Zeiss paid for it I am quite sure the video editor played a part Twisted Evil

B+W has several grades of filters in at least three different price ranges, and I am not surprised some members are disappointed with some of their filter optics product line - just like Leica lenses, not all are imho worth the reputation that follows the name.

As did Hoya - remember the green box range...? Some B+W filters are only single coated as well.

Robert White has the new D15 at £2,250GBP including UK 20% VAT by the way.

The hood is a fixed hood?
Wonder how can we put a square GND filter on it?

You don't Wink
My Distagon 15 (Glatzel's original) has three built in filters. You switch them by rotating a ring on the lens barrel.
