Katastrofo - that's right, I have M42 Trioplan - I use it with my E-300 and M42-4/3 adapter. In Poland these lenses are very rare. I saw 2 Trioplans at Allegro.pl (something like ebay): "my" for 149 PLN; 1 PLN = 3.63 € or 2.52 USD and other for 180 PLN. I'm lucky - my Trioplan haven't any dust, fungus or scratches
I hope, you'll grab good Trioplan soon! Best regards |
Thanks, Maxim, for the information! Nice to see a fellow e300 shooter!
Did you know your name is a magazine? Has nice pictures...

Sorry, BIG MISTAKE (today morning I was very sleepy) - 1 USD = 2.52 PLN; 1 € = 3.63 PLN... so price of my lens was 149 PLN (IMHO very cheap). Now I'm in my university and I'm still sleepy Sorry for problems... Hubert _________________ Regards,

I was very busy in the passing week, so I didn't take many photos. Also the weather in Poland wasn't good - rather rainy and cloudy.
Here's photo taken today afternoon:
That's my Trioplan... this "ancient" lens attached to modern dSLR looks funny Helios 44M-6 for comparision.
The glass is clean, with beauty blue coat:
And... original, factory box This box looks better live, than in a photo

Yes great samples from Maxim.
To be fair, I also remember some Carsten's very nice shots with the lens, some time ago.

I can't say, that Trioplan is „the best lens”... but it has own mystical personality and character. Some other lenses produce sharper pictures, have better colour transmission and contrast – but I love my Trioplan. It's good tool for me.
Bill, very nice to meet the person using the same equipment ! Before I bought E-300, for two years I had used old HP 912C (old 2 MPix dSLR with fixed lens and semi-transparent mirror). New dSLRs were too expensive for me. Now I am discovering world of the photography anew If U want, visit my account in Polish photo-portal. That's link directly to my account:

Bill, Andy - thanks, nice to read your opinion
Yesterday evening I took one test photo - I tried to produce chromatic aberration with my Trioplan at F/2.8. I hope that my hand didn't shaked very much That's the result:
100% crops:
Contrast and sharpness aren't excellent (low light), but I'm surprised that there is no chromatic aberration - in the centre of image and in the corners too.
Added 10.11.2007:
Today I took very similar photo, but at F/5.6. Contrast and sharpness is better (I think that relatively good) as you see at 100% crop:
90% of my photos were taken with full open aperture because I prefer softness and unreal glow. Trioplan + autumn is a very good combination [/b] _________________ Regards,

There are some shots wide open and some stopped down, and one scene both (wide open and stopped down). No info, but you'll surely guess which is what. _________________ Orio, Administrator

I forgot a few of the best ones (or less worst ones), don't know how, anyway here they are:
