Today I received this lens, which I won for 15 Euros
(actually being a bit ashamed to have won it for so little money!)
At first, I was afraid that it was broken, because it could only focus to 10-15 cms and not more.
It took me the whole day, to casually play around with the lens and find out, that there was attached an extension tube, that was causing the macro focusing.
So now I am happy, because the lens is good
Here's a foto that shows this, on the left one of the promo fotos, on the right a quick dirty amd blurred snapshot I just took of the unscrewed ensemble, to show the seller:

Thanks! What about the price? It seems very low to me for a 35mm, but I am no Meyer expert. _________________ Orio, Administrator

What a shame! They are beautiful objects. Mine even came with a beautiful original Meyer leather hard case - probably worth the 15 Euros alone in any flea market. _________________ Orio, Administrator

I must agree, considering that for 15 Euros I got:
- a nice 35mm old lens in perfect optical condition
- an extension tube for macro work
- a very nice original leather case with Meyer logo press-printed on it
But the seller I bought it from, has no fault, he is not a lens seller, he sells many things and got this lens from a person. He does not know anything about photography. _________________ Orio, Administrator

I have this lens Orio - I'm not entirely sure of the age but I think it's from the mid to late '50's.
One other thing, the 5D mirror hits it at infinity focus - at least on my 5D it does anyway. It'll be OK on your Bessie though. |

Thanks Bob. Your info coincides with what I have found. My 5D went to the barbershop. So now I can shoot this and other lenses at infinity _________________ Orio, Administrator

Interesting!
The Primagon it's not a Tessar clone.
It is, in fact, a Cooke Triplet, with an added negative element in the front that turns it into an inverted tele.

I am now very curious to try it!! _________________ Orio, Administrator

It'll be interesting to see how the Primagon performs on your 5D. |
