Went to the Calvert Marine Museum, it is a small museum near my home. They have displays that pertain to the Chesapeake Bay.

They rescued/salvaged an historic lighthouse and relocated it to the museum grounds. I took several versions with different lenses.

Zenitar 2.8/16

Nikon 2.8/35

Nikon 1.8/85

It was very dark in parts of the main hall and I had to use a bit more shadow/highlight, in Photoshop, than I would have normally used to get some details to show.

Zenitar 2.8/16 wide open (ISO1600)

This was an outside boat shed with very old work boats hanging from the ceiling and displayed on the floor.

Miscellaneous photos

Fossil of a sharks tooth. This thing is about 10" tall Shocked

This is a representation of 'The Ultimate Shark'. The jaws are open nearly 5 feet! I thought it was extremely funny looking.

I love this sort of thing. I particularly like the Zenitar pictures. Have you thought of "straightening" them ? I'm not suggesting that they would be necessarily better - just different.

Thanks guys!

I see some things I would like to fix (funny how you don't see them, until you post them Confused )

John - I can barely get the files converted from RAW to JPEG and now I need to figure out how to straighten out the fish eye pics Very Happy I do want to try it on the photo of the boat.

Another shot of the lighthouse.
This was with Nikkor-Q 4/200 (very nice lens, stopped down)

I believe this is a manual drill press. It was in a display of a workshop from the early 40's.

Old block & tackle

I hope you enjoyed my little photo tour. I was happy that I finally took the 1.8/85 off and tried some other lenses Very Happy

I missed these when you posted the first batch.
Really great shots Mike I love this location.
The Zenitar shot inside the Museum is my favorite but they are all great.
Marinas are a big part of life in my neighborhood.
There is something very comforting about them for me Smile

Good shots of an interesting place. Are #2 and 3 reverse labeled?

My fav is the second one of the tower, taken with Nikkor 35mm, great presence and breath to the image.

I thought that when I originally posted, so I went back to the original files - pretty sure they are correct (but I was changing lenses pretty regular). What throws them off is they are shot from different locations along the dock, plus #2 is a pretty cropped.

This is my favorite version as well, but for much simpler reasons. I just think it looks cool with the tall masted sail boat next to it Very Happy

Thanks Attila! I took some more shots with the Zenitar today (one looked REALLY good through the viewfinder, so I will find out later if it turned out well).
