Due to the purchase of several Spotmatic sets, I have more than one copy of several Takumar lenses. I do not need any spares as my Takumars will easily outlast me, so I put them on eBay. Everything starts at 1 Euro, no reserve.

Please check out my auctions with lots of detailed pictures.

How so?

The small pin which block the passage Auto->Manual got stuck on the screws of the Zenit 11's mount. I success to unscrew the lens putting flour in the hole of the screw to do a small ramp, but the small pin had been twisted. I didn't know that mounting an S-M-C Takumar on a Zenit could be hazardous, I badly learned it Rolling Eyes

Here is a pic of the twisted pin (with unsuccessful trings to untwist it) :

Hopefully, I don't use my 28/3.5 often, I rather use my S-M-C 20/4.5 and Tamron 17/3.5 for 24x36 wide angle Smile

Strange, but can you modify the mount of the zenit by filling the screw hole with some other material?

This type of problem I usually see the other way around, for instance by putting Rikenon lenses (with the Ricoh pin in the mount) on PK bodies. The Ricoh pin gets stuck in the AF screw drive (if I'm not mistaken) of the body.

But the lens is not unusable! The function of the little pin is to lock the A-M switch in Auto when the lens is mounted on a Spotmatic F or ES/ESII camera. I guess the switch is currently locked in the Auto position, but the aperture will still stop down when the main pin is pushed, so you can use it on any Spotmatic, Praktica, Zenit or other M42 camera in Auto mode or, with the right adapter, in stop-down mode on a Canon EOS camera. You'll need to remove the pin or file it down flush with the mount. Alternatively, if you can dismantle the rear mount part of the lens and remove the pin and the lock altogether, you can use the lens just like a Super-Tak.

Now I use a black S1a, no problems wth S-M-C lenses, Zenits were my two first 35mm cameras Smile

And I had the Rikenon probleme too, with a 80-200/3.9 Tokura, it got tuck on my K100D, but I had luck, I success to unstuck it without destroying anything Razz

It can't be screwed completely, due to the twisted pin. And I'm using a Pentax K100D, not an EOS camera, so I use my Super Takumar, and maybe one day I'll find a good price for an S-M-C without problem Razz
