Just ordered Lightroom 1.3 from these guys, download version, for a LOT
cheaper than from Adobe. Will post my experiences to this thread. I found
Lightroom Beta was fine, but I don't need all the tools that they've included
that PS does, anyway.

I don't 100% know, but the downloadable software is OEM, and they have
a 100% 60-day money back guarantee.

OEM software comes with hardware parts as far as I know. I am afraid this software is same than if you download for free from a torrent site. I suggest next time don't buy it.

Well, I can always exercise the 60-day money back option.

Thanks for the tip. I don´t need it, but I think the only thing that maybe is wrong is the OEM licence, and who care about that.

Lahnet, me too, who cares about the online registration, they've stated
the software can receive updates, and as before, I will post my experiences.
CS3 is only $109.95 from them! Shocked

I have got Lightroom for free as Rawshooter Pro owner. Can not like it. It has many duplicate commands due to necessity Adobe felt to keep compatibility with ACR. But my main issue is that the colour profile for the Canon cameras is nowhere as good as the Canon's native.
I really hope you can have a better experience than mine with this software. There are people who are really happy about it.

Orio, all my stuff this last month or so have been processed using LR2. I
don't have an issue with the color, but of course I'm shooting Olympus,
not Canon.

Then you have made the right choice, because you posted great stuff without any doubt.

For the Canon cameras there was a third party, a Norwegian guy, who made a great colour profile for Rawshooter Pro and Capture One.

Unfortunately, Adobe's Canon profile in ACR always sucked big time, and apparently it was just ported over to Lightroom as it has the same characteristic: impossible to obtain a deep red (as in rose's carminium red), the best Adobe can manage is a shade of orange.

I was very lucky, I got the PS CS version (as an education version) from my school. Since I work as a PR coordinator for our school, I could convince my headteacher that I need this program. Wink
Thus I've got a legal copy and do not need another program.

Update: I got the download today and it works great. It took them 2 weeks
to process my order, so, if you're in a hurry, don't bother with these guys.
