Thank you Orio

This lens rarely gets taken off the camera. if so, only to be replaced by the noctilux

I'm eagerly waiting for the delivery of the ZM Biogon 25/2.8

The changing season should be perfect for a brilliant wide angle like the ZM 25/2.8

An explosion of colors slowly replaced by the cold and dark of winter

This is a friendly tip on the shoulder by me in my function as moderator
to remind you that we have a PM system here for such private conversations.
The whole MF world reading this may not really be interested in this possibly
wonderful girl, but rather to read about a wonderful lens - right? Wink

[I propose to clean up this thread then....]

Now Hari, you reminded me that I have ordered this lens from my dealer here, since JANUARY !...
On the other hand, I probably cannot afford it right now (I quitted my job 2 weeks ago).

Good choice mate, it's a great lens!

Hope the reasons you quit your job for work out for you!

If for some reason you don't want the lens, i'm happy to take it!

Hari, you bringing my attention to this lens was the reason for my most recent purchase. I stumbled upon a used one yesterday (priced really low) and couldn't resist. I hope this isn't the beginning of an expensive journey.

This lens has it all. Fairly fast, great sharpness, APO, nice bokeh plus wonderful ergonomics. And it focuses close and even closer with the Hawk's helicoid adapter for my NEX. I'm thinking that this lens could replace the OM 90/2 especially since I have some great 1:1 macro lenses. Actually, this Leica can replace a lot of my lenses.

Congrats! you just got yourself a great lens!

75mm has become my personal favorite as it gives you more reach than a 50mm and you can crop to a 90mm without any issues

i find 75mm to be best suited for my style of photography which basically is no-style-photography Laughing Laughing

jokes aside, leica lenses are great investments. keep shooting with them for years, enjoy nice pictures and sell them for a tidy profit. who can complain?

have you started falling down the rabbit hole? i think yes. god have mercy on your bank account Very Happy

Here's a recent fav ->

Hari, I am waiting for your review of the new Leica M.

Then I will only be 6000€ away from this interesting camera Very Happy
Seriously, some complain about its footprint.
What do you think?

I'm probably not buying one mate ... there is no real allure for me

If i wanted a one-camera-does-all, id probably buy a D4 or 1Dx

The digital full frame M for me is about a limited set of functions at which it excels

Id rather get the newest CaNikon with a macro, a wide angle and a super zoom. I have a lot of C/Y zeiss and Leica-R prime glass to throw on the body

Besides, the M9 is such a solid camera, im not feeling the need to upgrade ... except for the lust of a new toy Very Happy

christmas is getting closer .... Twisted Evil but id rather buy more lenses than more bodies ... but christmas is getting closer ... Twisted Evil

It seems you are Ok with the M9 sensor performance, which is a usual subject of complaints.

Kaleespera!

before i bought the m9, i read user comments on it for a few weeks and i knew the high iso performance wasnt too good.

but then, with f1 / f1.2 / f1.4 lenses, i dont really see a need for high iso. for most of my needs, 1250 is good enough.

i have a nex7 which ive taken out twice since i bought it so i realize im not much into AF or video or LV or long exposures etc. which is also why i sold my 1DsIII.

i do complain about the lack of backlit buttons/dials and weather sealing and a decent display and ergonomics without having to use thumbs up as an almost mandatory appendage

what i mean is - from an image output point of view, im super happy with my m9 and will never sell it

from a usability standpoint, the new M solves quite a few of my asks and may improve my experience but the images coming out will not change

then again, i havent seen enough images from the M to see if the new sensor makes any difference to the image quality

christmas .... i've been a good boy Very Happy

Yes! it is the world's first full frame digital rangefinder in a small compact size and successfully keeps the lead till date!
