The grain looks like a cheap drugstore film with 200 speed.

'a really good s*** ' I cant make out whether this means good or bad. Something lost in translation.
"really good s***" means excellent
"really s***" means quite the opposite.
"a really good s***" means a productive time on the toilet.
assuming s*** means shit.
Drugstore/poundshop film is only as good as the labs processing it. To a large extent, all film is only as good as the labs processing it. At least in my experience (in retail and as a social photographer).
I used to use Velvia for weddings and at one (pro) lab it always came out with dull muddy colours. So I started using Kodacolor ll and getting it done at Boots, it was way better. Then I discovered that Velvia processed at the pro lab charging twice as much, the colours were true and vibrant. False economy.
but now we must accept what the labs give us because there are so few about. _________________ Hero in the 'messin-with-cameras-for-the-hell-of-it department'. Official. |

Glad we cleared that one up. Its difficult to get an angle on what you are saying if you manage to use a colloquialism wrongly. I am married to a Polish lady , although her English is good it causes all kinds of problems when she takes a colloquialism literally!!
Anyway, I too am the proud owner of an X-700 and I cannot wait to take it out with my Rokkors. And my poundshop Fuji film! _________________ Hero in the 'messin-with-cameras-for-the-hell-of-it department'. Official. |
