After the last two rolls of this film developed in DK-50 and RO9 came out with a dark base that looked like heavy fog I shot a short test roll to try another developer. The base came out almost clear, but I ran into a different issue - the negatives are covered in tiny dots, both dark and pale. At least I've worked out what the issue is with the dark base issue, it's not the film, it's how the film reacts to different developers. I used the Fomadon LQN at 1:30 and developed for 35mins at 30C. This worked well, the contrast is quite high, the problem is all the dots. I've cleaned up these frames, but I can only conclude that this developer isn't suited to this film either. It's going to take me a while to find the ideal developer for this film it seems.

Sigma 3.5-4.5/21-35 on EOS 10qd, the film was rated at ISO 50.

Dots aside, I like the tonality of the results.

Me too, this is the sort of tonality I like - contrasty but with a nice tonal width.

If you'd seen how dark and gray it was, you'd be quite impressed I think, the last two are at f3.5, 1/20 to give you some idea, the first two were I think f6.7 at 1/30. FP4 in this light would be a waste of time.

Some D76 should arrive in the mail shortly, I'll try that with this film next.
