Now I wonder, what will happen with Leica M9 or whatever Leica is up to?

Leica will find another company that makes sensors.
The real problem is: who will replace the Tri-X, the T-Max film and developer?
Huge loss for B&W film photographers.

I hope they will sell the rights to produce these items to some other manufacturer.

What usually happens is intellectual property is liquidated so if someone sees Tri-X etc as viable products then they could well but up the technology.

I would love to see them survive. As long as Antonio M Perez is running things, i worry for them. He, as I understand, is the one that sold off and stopped development of all kinds of things so they could concentrate on cheap printers and other things that didn't help.

Their will be a big run on B&H, Adorama and others now for Ektar, Portra, T-MAX 400 and others. That might actually help the company while they are trying to restructure.

Agreed on Tri-X. Also X-tol developer, although I hear that it would be simple to make or buy very similar (not sure though).

Sad to hear.
Sad

They had an interesting promise here.
But they lost in the end , trying to keep alive the film and not betting on Digital cameras . Sadly.
