Hello everyone,
I found a Kaleinar 5N 100 2.8 with M42 mount (although I do not have with me now), and I see that it has a pin in M42 mount, but not the classic presets M42 pin but this pin is rectangular, I do not have experience with it (excuse my ignorance)
Can I use this lens with my digital Pentax K-R? (obviously with Adapter M42 -> K) or not?
Is in good condition, how much I could sell? On ebay there are prices from 100 to 150 $ |

That lens is also sold with Nikon mount, I think that's what the pin is for and it serves no purpose in M42 mount. I think the lens can be used on Pentax without problems.
I've read that it's a good lens, but cheap, usually sells for less than 100€ |

If it's called Kaleinar-5N then the lens was made for Nikon, therefore there's a high probability
that the M42 mount is a custom modification. That would also explain the remaining Nikkor lever.
Besides, I never heard of a M42 version of this lens (and I suspect that if it exists, it would be
called Kaleinar-5M, not Kaleinar-5N) _________________ Orio, Administrator

and seems to have been sold with the adapter for Nikon, and I think I have read on some forum the same thing.
However, how much could be worth? |

I had this lens and I did try parallel with Leica-R 90mm f2.8 second version, difference was so little if there was any on my Olympus E-1.
I estimate price max to 100 USD _________________ -------------------------------

You had the M42 with Nikon adapter version or M42 version?
The pin could cause problems to my Pentax K-r? |

It was irrelevant to me due I used 4/3 camera Olympus E-1 I don't remember exactly for mount, my guess it was Nikon mount. _________________ -------------------------------

They usually come with 2 replaceable mounts for Nikon and M42. One mount can be unscrewed and replaced with another one. |

No, it makes no sense to use an additional M42-Nikon adapter. Probably you will not be able reach infinity focus with an adapter. Instead, you should ask if anybody has the interchangeable original Nikon mount part for Kaleinar, so you could unscrew the M42 mount ring and put in the Nikon mount ring instead.
My copy of Kaleinar lens came with both mount parts, I´m using the Nikon mount myself. _________________ Markku
