Do you have infinity focus with this one?
Any vignetting there?
I have pretty similar looking Industar only with Lanthanum but never tried on Pentax, just on my m4/3 and I really liked the lens for portraiture I guess that I have to invest in M39 to M42 ring and find out.
I like the results you getting. _________________

Thanks for the kind words.
No, can't get infinity focus - on the Pentax, only good for close work really.
I haven't cropped those images in any way, and I don't see any vignetting.
I have read that there are different versions of the Industar 61, but I don't know which is which or how they are different.
This one is OK though

Mine is also very good, excellent on m4/3 where I have infinity focus and was thinking that yours is the one with longer register distance but I guess this is also like mine Leica LTM version. I like to have the same one but in regular M42 but I do not know if they have same optical performance. _________________

Industar 61 L/D for LTM, Industar 61 L/Z for reflex in M42 mount. the L/Z looks like a little Volna-9 : http://t.hacquard.free.fr/site1/industar_61.html _________________ Pierre

Panda sounds cute - I like it.
My lens is not the standard 6 blade iris that is mentioned in Wiki.
It has 9 blades - unfortunately they are swimming in grease.
At least I know that they won't go rusty

Yes, it is Lanthanum version and yes, condition of the lens is almost like new. Purchased from Ukraine from seller who was a photographer and was the first owner of the lens. He said it was in immaculate condition and it was. Pretty happy with it and when I compared with Super-Takumar 50mm 1.4 apart from slightly cooler color rendering was just a bit less sharp but you really need to pixel peep at 200% or higher to see the difference. _________________

Oldhand version is the early version, from 1963. It's not written L/D, but maybe they already used lanthanum in glasses.
RAART's version is late version, regarding to FED logo, I think from end of 70's or 80's. _________________ Pierre

Is there a way of telling from the lens, when it was made?
Just curious

With FED, it's hard. Untill the Industar-61 (like for I-26m), it's quite unpredicable. But I heard that when I-61 came up, they followed the usual numbering (like KMZ). I'm not sure about that. _________________ Pierre

So both my lens and RAART's version are made by FED, just with different logos.
I have read that Industar 61 was made by FED and LZOS(Lutkarino).
Did any other factory produce them?

KMZ produced a preserie of the Industar-26m (the father of the Industar-61), but that's all, as far as I know. _________________ Pierre

This is a Lutkarino LZOS produced lens. Totally different looking one:
