Very well known old lens, maybe boring because everybody knows it... but on the 5D Mark II shows why it's a legendary lens!

(p.s. all hand held)
(p.p.s. these images are less than 1/4er smaller than the originals...)
(p.p.p.s. the foreground branch is about 12-15 mt away, the top of the hill is probably more than 1 km away)












If anybody is interested in 100% crops let me know.

Attila, I know you love this lens, if you are interested in the original sizes for your lens gallery also let me know.

I set ISO to 200 and shot at 1/500... which, if you handle camera correctly, equals more or less the result of shooting at 1/125 with a bit shaky tripod Smile

The Jena 180 helps with hand held photographing because the big weight helps stabilization.

That is because the shot is so sharp per se that my standard sharpening preset value is excessive. Here below I much reduced it:

heh, impressive...my father has got CZJ 180/f2,8 and use it with his Praktica MTL3 Smile

5DII is a damn good camera this is another part of truth Wink I think you will find with this camera many lens even better than ever before.

notice the Moire on the curtains in the first crop, look at original size in the whole image... that is some serious resolvance! Shocked

With Loren I would be more in the gerontophiliac business Laughing

When Loren had the "B side" that I appreciate (see avatar) that was in the 60s I'm afraid. Shocked

Oh by the way... I appear on a real postcard where there is also Loren... would you believe that?? I was one year old and that was a cardboard of greetings from Salsomaggiore. Which happens to be both my hometown and the place of the Miss Italy contest. A photographer friend of my family who was to create the postcard images, put me in a photo collage with Loren. I still have a copy of that cardboard, sooner or later I will scan it for the group Laughing
