I also have a Trioplan 2,9/50 with an Exakta mount. I find it good and sharp. It is a pleasure to use. It is also
generally very inexpensive.

Very nice examples of the fantastic bokeh of the DDR-lenses.

I love them, and don't forget the underrated Domiplan 50/2,8,one of my favourites.

Uuu, i love this one. And the coolest thing about Domiplan: everyone is handicapped in different way thus unique.

The Meyer Diaplan 100 or Pentacon AV 100/2.8 projection lenses are cheap alternatives for the Trioplan 100 , with same image characteristics.

Looked at Your Website, Marcus! Just perfect!
This Diaplan was a discovery for me, really!
I want to ask you. Did you put this Diaplan in body with helicoid, and made for it a diaphragm blades, or used only wide open?
And another question. There are also Diaplan 80mm. Have you any opinion about it?
My Petzval 120mm. the same, was made from very old CZ projection lens and in self made body with helicoid and 20 blades diaphragm.
Here it is http://album.foto.ru/photo/2322421/
Now I want Diaplan))))

Personally I think Orestor 100 is generally underated. I always get a sharp subject and a very smooth bokeh from my copy. As good as its big brother in a much smaller package.

A bit of botany)))

I have an 80/2.8 Pentacon AV, which is said to be the same lens as Diaplan 80/2.8. I can use it wide open only.

I was pretty happy when I found out that Diaplan and Pentacon AV 100mm/2.8 are good Trioplan 100 copies.
And I am happy that more people love my reccomendation for these lenses Smile

I bought the Diaplan with the outer helicoid part - so I had full focussing, and need only the outer housing - this is perfectly such a cheap Asian extension tube set for ~10 Euros. This way it should worl for Nikon F mount and other cameras too, with infinity.
There is no iris.

In case on gets only the lens itself, without outer "helicoid" part, a Vivitar 2xMacro focusing extension tube could probably help, get the optics away, and glue the projetion lens into this tube. Most likely infinity is lost with this combination.

I have not tested the Diaplan / Pentacon AV 80mm lens, but from Lena´s images it looks good.

Hi,

One question: what type of helicoid can I use with these lens to allow t infinity focus in a EOS camera?

From the second last photo in the auction it seems one of the lenses has the outer "helicoid" part on it - you could use this. And most likely you will get infinity.

My Pentacon/Diaplan 100/2.8 projector lens came in a package with two focusing tubes (outer "helicoid" parts), one longer and one shorter. Here is a picture from the seller: http://www.flickr.com/photos/54671350@N02/6341231078/sizes/l/in/photostream/. Having two different tubes would allow more flexibility for mounting it to different types of cameras (SLR or mirrorless).

Fortunately, I have Trioplan now, so I do not need the Pentacon/Diaplan 100/2.8 or focusing tubes any longer.

I'll ask somebody here, to adapt it.

During the search for Diaplan( Pentacon V), I was found Trioplan 100/2.8 costs 100 euros in very nice condition)))) This version has a diaphragm with 10 blades. Fits on 5DII with adapter Exakta-Eos. Arm does not prevent and does not cling, so the presence of this thing can be ignored)))
This one:

All wide open:

I love this lens))))

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL, FRIENDS!!!

I cut my Pentacon AV 2.8/100 in half intending to mount it in a shutter for use on 6x9, but the way the damn thing is constructed it's going to be very tricky, so the bits are sat in my 'parts' box now. Examining the three elements and their spacing, I don't see any difference n the design to other similar triplet projection lenses like the Agfa Agomar 2.8/90.

Best of all, if you can compare the photos. There are many lenses that have the same structure (planar, ernostar, for example, and others). They have, as a minimum, different calculations of optical circuits that introduces significant variations in the image. IMHO.

I have the Meyer Telemegor 250mm f5.6 M42 which I acquired from a neighbour for very cheap in excellent condition in original brown leather case like new.It is evidently not very well regarded and I have yet to use it.However I see it is at the $200-$250 range on Ebay and in far worse condition than mine.Aluminum version with 18 blades.
