Is lens made in Japan? If yes, then Danish or Swedish or ??? company re-branded a Japan lens.

Carsen was a brand used by a US chain of camera stores.
These were the "house brand" lenses.
All I have seen were Japanese imports. Some look like they are Tokinas.
This one looks like a Sankor. I have one just like it in the Accura brand. Or maybe, given some new information, it might be a Sun. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

I would think it's mid to late 60's by other lenses I've seen. _________________

No. Different makers. The Komine lens the top lip is different style. Also komine has an O/C ring.
On the Sankor's the ring at the top under the f stop numbers is normally chrome. I can't tell if it is on this lens, but it is the normal Sankor styling. _________________

Carsten is danish, Carlson is swedish. In many surnames in Denmark ends with sen and in Sweden they ends with son.

Googling for CARSEN LENS brings up comments that Carsen was a Canadian photo-gear distributor.
Meanwhile, I just saw an eBay listing for a SUPER CARENAR lens, which might have been made by Cosina. Carena and Carenar may have been brands of an Austrian or German firm. I saw the listing, remembered this Carsen thread, noted the name similarity. I just thought I'd mention it. _________________ Too many film+digi cams+lenses, oh my -- Pentax K20D, K-1000, M42s, more
