hi all,
this is my first post here, after a reading here as a guest, i decided to login.
so today i went into our loca foto shop and bought some hopefully nice lenses.
rollei CZ HFT planar 50mm 1,4
rollei CZ HFT Sonnar 135 2,8
CS Y/C 35mm 2,8
all in good condition
with the CS Y/C 35mm 2,8 i will buy a chip adapter, and will have fun with it.
only the two rollei lenses i did not find many words in the www.
does anybody has some experience mounted on the 5D ?
does anybody mounted it with a confirm chip?
on ebay there are only adapter without chip..
thx for feedback
regards

You will need to shave the mirror in order to use the Rollei Planar on the 5D.
I have a straight (no chip) adapter and it works well. If you use the 5D especially with a better focusing screen like the EE-S, you don'y really need a chipped adapter, except for wide angle lenses wider than 28mm. _________________ Orio, Administrator

hi,
here is a pic of the three zeiss lenz.
@orio
did you mean i have to shave the mirror if i use a chip adapter?
or do i have to shave it at all events?
the last lens moves only about 1mm after the bajonett...
or is it because of the strange beveled metall ring?
what a pitty....
i think, i cant shave the mirror ...

AH, I thought it was a 50/1.8 - I didn't know it exists as a 1.4 - in that case, I don't know about the mirror - the 0.8 does not clear it, I don't know about the 1.4 _________________ Orio, Administrator

hi,
what a pitty!
even the carl zeiss T* 35mm 2,8 does not fit on the canon 5D!
At about 5 meter the mirros hits some metal around the last lens.
perhaps its possibel to shave it, but i dont think that is worth.
cheers

I have the same problem with a well made M42 adaptor and the Mamiya 55/1.4 : it's the 5D mirror that plays a little bit while going up. _________________ Switching from M42 to Minolta MD & Contax/Yashica |
