I decide to sell my FUJINON SF 85/4. Tomorrow I will send pics of it.

In Ebay this month sold two, one at @ $360, and other offer at @ $ 500.

I think that the price to sell it at the MF members can't be so up

(friendly), but $ 250 plus ship is adecuate.

It's in mint (really) condition. No mark, scratches, fungus, haze.

Mechanical is OK, blades close and open without any problem.

The lens is a collector item.

Rino.

As I promess yesterday, send pics of the lens.

As you can see, it's in mint condition. If you have 85's this is the moment to complete your collection.

If you need a portrait especific lens, this is the lens.

Some reviews, in the middle of the 80's, awarded to Pentax the original idea of the lens. I don't know, but it's a really portrait lens.

It looks like a Rodenstock Imagon with a "tea strain" on (invented in 1931, history in italian: http://www.nadir.it/ob-fot_grande/obiettivi-imagon/default.htm).

Hi Alessandro

Yes, it's like the imagon, but with it you only take soft pics, while the fujionon has a shame than let you use the lens at F/8-11, 11 and 16 as a normal 85 mm lens (tack sharp).

This difference on quality (portrait and sharp) in only one lens, make it so attractive. It's an ideal 85 lenses.

I sell it because the portrait isn't my job.

It will be better in others hands.

Rino.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but what is the metal part inside the lens for?

PostPosted: Wed Oct 01, 2008 8:50 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Damn, I'm very very tempted. Is a M42 mount?
Sorry if this is a stupid question but what is the metal part inside the lens for?
This metal part is the responsable to the soft image. This is the system that use the rodenstock's imagon.

The metal have holes of differents size, thru them pass the light, and the image form in softness way at F/4, 5,6 and 5,6-8, and sharp at F/8, 11 and 16.

Yes, it's in M42 screw. Came with both original caps. It's a rare lens, especially in this mint condition.

Very light, very easy to use.

Rino.

And I don't need to use it any time soon anyway, so it will end up into a closet after some test shots.

Which is your complete name btw? Rino is an abbreviation here in Italy.

Not always, Alessandro. Here in my surroundings the name Rino is (was, mostly) used often as stand alone name, especially in the old generation. I know several of them, all more or less the age that my father would have.

It will be better in your closet and not in others hands. Laughing

Of course it is a joke.

My name is Juan Rino Leonardi. Rino is abbreviation there? Of what name?

Of a lot of names: Marino, Gasparino, Gennarino, etc

Leonardi is also a common italian surname here in North Italy, I had a professor with that surname.

Hey! Mi father was born in October 11 too. He was a good person, with very much sensibility, a pacifist man. A real friend to me. Perhaps you may be alike.

Enjoy your 46er!!

The better for you, esteemed Orio. Rino.
