I've bought the lens in the title, as you know, and today, when testing, i found it very smooth in the corners.

Is this normal? Is there away to fix it?

Besides that i dont know what's wrong with focusing to infinity... the picture below doesnt seems correctly focused...

Big pictures, around 1mb.

Thanks for any insight.

Some blur in the corners at wide open is normal with this lens.
There is copy variations with the Fleks but judging from these two images, yours does not seem so bad (at least to me).
I usually shoot this lens at f/8 or f/11

As for infinity focusing, it seems ok to me, but at this enlargement size it's difficult to say any conclusive word.

These were shot at f/11 or smaller apertures

I'm so sad. Crying or Very sad

No problem, resell the lens, you will get your money back.

Anyway maybe I am too forgiving, but I fail to see this enormous corner problem that you mention.

In the first picture it's very distinct on the boat and the cart more to the right.

At the center, this lens is beautifull... i just get the creeps when i go and check the corners! It makes my eyes sad and heart break. Crying or Very sad

I see you pics as you saw this. My 20/4 Flekt produce similar pics, may be something less sharp at center, but very closely. And with this corners as your lens do.

I guess it's a good macro lens then... Sad

I definitely have fall-off at the corners with the Flek 25/4. I just try to work around it, and keep the aperture at f:8 and above whenever possible.

Well, shots were made at f/11 and beyhond.

I'll try f/22 Laughing

Well, both of the 20 & 25 f4.0 lens are soft at the corner. The 2.8 is marginally better but its corner won;t really be termed sharp unless you stopped down way to 11 and the subject is not really close up. In a sense they exhibit very classic wide angle lens render, with a heavy degrading of image quality once abotu 1/2 out from center, and once you got to 2/3 off center, you can really tell ( even when stopped down )

Oh God... it seems i bought a macro lens. (this is why: http://forum.mflenses.com/flektogon-25-4-test-shots-t11237.html )

Better F/'s : 11 and 16 for my 20/4.

If you compose with care (center to the attention at the center, or near, of the image), and not put in the borders distracting things.......
