Congrats, Richard, and some nice test shots! I see the start of its signature
bokeh in #2. Wink Looks like the copy you have is a keeper!

Really nice shots. This one shines in your hands. I like the grass shots in the water the most. All are great.

Wow Richard - amazing shots. Tripod? or handheld?

Thanks - All handheld. It balances well so you can get away with 400th - 500th sec shutter speeds so it's useable without pushing the ISO above 400 in reasonable light, but I think the f8 is closer to f10...

Thanks - I'm pleasantly surprised at how infrequently the 'donuts' impeed on the shot. I can cope with a little, as in the Blackbird shot, but I did have the odd shot completely dominated by it (deleted rather than published Wink ). If the subject/background distance is high enough or the background isn't too busy/brightly lit the bokeh is okay.

It's a compromise lens, but the lack of CA, weight and size go along way to make up for the sometimes dodgy bokeh and low speed. Sharpness is quite good - it resolves well enough nd the contrast isn't too low. For the price it's a bargain.

Nice samples , enjoy this very nice lens, I believe this lens is the best compromise in 500mm. I have a more sharp and lot more rare 3M 500mm f6.3 , but so huge difficult to carry it.

Very nice results for a mirror lens!

Nice shots, Richard!
I love specially the composition of #1, #6 and #8. Very sharp and great colours...
