I had my first hike with the Rollei version of the Distagon 1.4/35.
I've used this lens beforee but today with a different adapter.
This adapter is the one I can get infinity with using my other Rollei QBM's
The first shot you will see that the mirror interferes.
That one was only about 1.5M from the lens.
So the rest of the trip I only shot very close up.
Anyway enough grovelling. I love the lens and there are a couple of nice samples.
And a couple more missed ones here in this post Laughing
The snake was a tough one. Nearly a cool sequence but he was very busy.
I was laying on the ground in front of him while shooting. I only got of 2 shots both while he was moving.
He actually moved right into the lens hood Shocked I think he thought he could hide there.
Michelle just about lost it when this happened. He is a harmless snake so no big deal.
Most shots wide open with little PP (black point, WB adjustments, Crop).
I gave up early from frustration but here are a few.

The mirror blocking the shutter for the first time Mad

Shame about the mirror. Does it shoot alright on the 40D? I have been considering an adapter for these rollei lenses.

Yep, the unshaved 5D can do that with some lenses. Rolling Eyes
I really like the composition of the first fern picture, Andy. The snake is cute he does not look fearsome Smile

All the Rollei adapters I have work fine on a 40D, Patrick.

Although "only" close shots, these are very nice, Andy!

I would say you are really brave. I will be the first one running away from the snake. Where I came from, there's just too many poisonous snakes that my immediate reflex would be to run away upon sighting it.

Nice pictures anyway.
