I was able to buy a special lens: a pre-war biotar 100/2 in Exakta 66 mount with 66/35 adapter. In my early tests it is somewhat sharper wide open than the Biotar 75/1.5. The bokeh wide open is a bit swirly but not as extremely as with its smaller brother. Overall, an amazing piece of old school glass!

Excellent color rendering!
Never heard of this lens.
How much was it?

HOLY COW. Dream lens. VERY special indeed. If you don't mind my asking, where did you get it? I saw one on the 'Bay by that seller that tends to have these dream lenses, and I was like "DROOL, but I can't afford it".

Got any pics of the lens, too?

Man great image, too. Sigh.

Congrats for this rare gem! Can you show us picture from lens itself?

Yeah, it's quite rare, especially with the adapter to regular Exakta mount. It cost me a bit more than the current going price on eBay for Biotar 75/1.5, but considering its rarity and almost perfect condition, I think it was a good deal. You can find them on eBay for $1400+ without the adapter. I got it from Igor's camera after a lot of thinking Smile Will try to post pics of the lens itself later.

Great picture that first one. Cute kid with a comical expression.
Congrats on the lens as well Smile

Newer heard about it. Nice samples, I like bokeh and colors.

Here is what the lens looks like. I can't figure out whether the adapter is original Zeiss or a 3rd party. The appearance is very close to the lens itself.

Beautiful lens.
Terrific lens.
Very few things can make me envious. This lens is one of them!

I have a towel next to me wiping my mouth.
I put it on my list.
And I have very short list.

Thank you for these samples. Really rare lens. I hope I'll sometimes see photos taken with 80/2 Biotar, 100/1.9 Primoplan or 90/1.5 Makro-Plasmat Smile

Beautifull lens and very nice shots!
Have one with Exakta 66 mount, but the glass has many cleaning marks.
But I'm waiting for another one to come next week.

Have you actually used it on a prewar Exakta 66? I'd love to see sample pics on 6x6... droooool
