For what it's worth, I had a Chinon and didn't like it. A Rokkor MD should be free of sticky blade problem. Been thinking of trying one next to my Topcor. _________________ Regards,

Can you say more about that? I was looking into it. _________________ Regards,

My humble experience with two of them.
Good contrast, not prone to flare.
Sharpness, not as good like another minolta lenses, like the 1,2/58, PG 1,4/50, MC/MD 2,8/24 9 elements, MC 2/100, plain MD 2,8/28 (yes, it's very good one), but good enough.
Small and light. Easy to focus and to change apertures. Smooth controls.
If the sharpness is your point, this lens is not for you. Has a strong antigmatism. |

As for me, I've purchased Minolta MC W-Rokkor HG 35mm f/2.8 recently for my A7. I found some very good examples from this lens on A7 so I couldn't resist I was very much interested in Minolta MD 35/1.8 but it I am not sure about price/IQ of this lens. |
MC W.Rokkor HH 35/1.8 is an excellent lens on the A7,that easily outresolves 24MP sensor. My experience so far ,(I have 2 copies), is consistent with what you can find here:
http://artaphot.ch/sony-nex/altglas/341-sony-a7-and-classical-rokkors
I did not try plain MD 35/1.8,which has 1 lens less, but what I've seen by now let me think it may be slightly inferior to 35/1.8HH.
MD W.Rokkors 35/2.8 with 55mm and 49mm filter thread that I got are very good, sharp lenses on the A7,just lacking this bit of punch versus MC 35/1.8 HH.

And this is how 35mm Rokkors perform on the NEX5N (35/2.8 MD W.Rokkor is a strong contender):
