Hard subjects to get exactly the same photo off.... moving in the wind on the side of the road.

In my eyes the chinon is just a tiny bit ahead, not much in it.

I can't see a difference worth mentioning really. Smile

Agreed, and a what difference there is could be down to handheld focusing and exposure Wink

But a fun experiment, I did some more comparison between these two. The most important thing for me is really not the lens in itself, but which I can use the best to make pictures... The feeling there was that the Takumar was easier to handle.

Heres two more

Takumar is clearly smoother bokeh-wise but other than that It would be hard to tell the difference.

Ah well, if the Tak handles better in your hands it wins! Wink
I think comfortable handling is very important, more so with mf lenses than af ones. If I could afford it most of my lenses would be Taks, I love how they feel in my hands. Very Happy

Well the Chinon i think renders lovely when used in certain ways.
If you dont mind i will post a sample of what i refer to.
This was taken this afternoon wide open at F1.7 and at 0.5m
i love the oil like rendering the chinon does and its very sharp wide open.

I agree with the 'oil like rendering' but I'm struggling to find a part of that image that is sharp. Sad (sorry)
