in spite I got if for half it's normal price, it was still a madness to buy it. I'm lucky that Monica does not know lenses and their values... Shocked

It is one of the very few fast lenses I have, that can combine the "sharp wide open" with the "smooth bokeh" things.
Usually fast lenses are either soft wide open with good bokeh, or sharp wide open with crappy bokeh.
I don't know how they cooked the magic in this one, but they did.

That is actually a different lens, Chris.
The 2/100 Makro ZF is the evolution of the Contax Makro-Planar 2.8/100
This lens I have, instead, The Contax 2/100, is a portrait lens.

Indeed. You can get great results from lenses that you can find for little money, but if you want to have the best possible performance, you need to spend big money.
The reasons why you would do so are several: professional demand, collector, trying to find out what is possible, enjoying the optimum performance...
(In you case, I guess, it's the last two aspects, right?) Wink

Zeiss lenses were always my dream, since when I was photographing with Sigma and Panagor zooms... Rolling Eyes

I admit I don't really know them... I only had a 18-28 zoom, and although it was manna from the sky (my only way to photograph with a superwide), the performance was not unforgettable Wink
