Ultimately managed to locate this lens from my dad's chest. A zebra - probably made between 1967-70. I know he bought it from Oxford UK sometime in 1970.

Loads of fungus and the focus ring is tight. the aperture ring is fine (perhaps a more affirmative click a la pentax would be welcome). The A-M switch is also functional.

Now shooting this on a digital Pentax K body- what can I expect? I have a few 50s (all smcP) and a Tak 55. May I request inputs from those who have used it?

when clean Pancolar is a great lens. i suggest you try to clean it, otherwise you'll lose on sharpness

here are some samples with it i made with olympus e-520 and E-M5 (i have 2 versions of the pancolar)

One of the few lenses I have left - love it! Excellent colours and contrast! Minimum focus distance is brilliant too. Sometimes I find it difficult to focus wide open.

The Pancolar became my instant favorite after I bought it! It's a great lens!

It's certainly worth the effort of fixing it!

Gentlemen, those are some fantastic images. The bokeh in the cat shot by Wolverine was terrific and unusual.

This one of mine has no electrical or any contacts. It neither has any mention of coatings. The MFD of 0.35mts should be a boon too.

Cleaning it won't be a simple task, but well worth it imho....
Great colors...

Later 1975 MC version, 6 blades.

Mir .... +100 on those shots. #3 is a fave! Can you recall the aperture you used to get that bokeh?

Thanks Martyn !

I don't recall precisely.. it was at the Botanical garden last summer.. i should take note of these things....

Anyway.... if it wasen't wide open, it was close to it ....

It's an easy recipe, a Pancolar at the end of the afternoon in a botanical garden !
