Hi,
I came across this camera and have no idea what it is. No sign of manufacturer anywhere. The lens is Xenar 7.5 f/2.8, it has focal plane shutter (cloth). The Xenar seems to be from 1936 judging by the S/N. The controls very unusual.
Could anyone help me ID this. None of the more experienced people I know had any idea.

I sent the camera for servicing, so no more pictures in the foreseeable future. It seems to take 120 or 620 film, looks like it makes 6x4.5 but I could be wrong. No manufacturer signed even inside.
Thanks a lot for your help. _________________ In my bag: Fuji X-T20, Samyang 12/2, Voigtlander Ultron 28/2, Voigtlander Nokton Classic 40/1.4, Mitakon Speedmaster 35/0.95, 7artisans 50/1.1, Canon LTM 100/3.5, Canon LTM 135/3.5. www.vh-photo.tk |

I think it's a one-off camera, so it's probably the only example in existence. I have seen other homemade cameras from the former eastern bloc... _________________ Peter - Moderator

That's what I thought at first, but the shutter, the rangefinder, the high grade lens for it's time, everything suggests a factory manufacture (it also has serial number inside). Also, the manufacturing quality seems more like Germany/Switzerland. Also, the man repairing it said, it was a very complex machine, even more than the old Leicas. _________________ In my bag: Fuji X-T20, Samyang 12/2, Voigtlander Ultron 28/2, Voigtlander Nokton Classic 40/1.4, Mitakon Speedmaster 35/0.95, 7artisans 50/1.1, Canon LTM 100/3.5, Canon LTM 135/3.5. www.vh-photo.tk |

Perhaps a prototype, made in small batch or DIY camera made from other camera parts. _________________ -------------------------------

I sort of thought the shape to be similar to Kodak Medalist but the controls are wholly different. _________________ In my bag: Fuji X-T20, Samyang 12/2, Voigtlander Ultron 28/2, Voigtlander Nokton Classic 40/1.4, Mitakon Speedmaster 35/0.95, 7artisans 50/1.1, Canon LTM 100/3.5, Canon LTM 135/3.5. www.vh-photo.tk |
