I took some longer lenses out to shoot a banger race last week, but there was no race (whoops! ), so ended up visiting the local owl raptor and reptile centre instead
All shots have been warmed up, had CA removed and sharpness applied, and all shots with the longer lenses were taken at f5.4 or f5.6.

Those are all top quality shots. I'd be happy to have anything half as nice as those.
My only question is... What is a banger race? I don't think we get them over here in Canada, or we call them something different. _________________ Camera(s) - Pentax *istD & K7

Great job of nailing the focus. I must try the Tamron 300 on the 5D. It was a nightmare to focus on the 40D. _________________ Casual attendance these days |

Wow Thanks for all the comments I had a lot of fun photographing these beautiful birds, they really are very cool
I found the Tamron SP 300/5.6 was quite a bit sharper wide open, with more manageable CA. That said, the Tamron SP 60-300 appears to be sharper and with less CA than the 300/5.6 at f8. Unfortunately in the cloudy light I had, I needed to shoot wide open.
A banger race is a car race for knackered old vehicles, where there doesn't appear to be any rules other than knock each other off the track until the cars stop working _________________ Graham - Moderator
