You arranged the composition very nicely, and the light - there's emphasis the long lines of your model which I think is very fetching. The grain and flare work well too for me.

These photos really sum up a lot of what I love about old folders. There's a gentle, long tone quality to the photos, a very kind take on detail, a relaxed feel that's missing on much of modern equipment.

Attila and Jussi, thanks for your comments.

I was going to use a fresh batch of Thornton's 2-Bath, but decided to use
Foma for Foma film. Wink I was in a hurry to get these dev'd and discovered I didn't make a new batch of stop, so used about 125ml of
white vinegar qs'ed to 500ml for an impromptu stop.

The sun was coming in and out of clouds outside that varied the lighting
on these, plus I shot at a different angle, too.

Thanks, again.

Would you agree the cam appears to be front focussing slightly Bill? Look at her fingers in the second shot. Very nice shots though, I like her exression in No 2.

I like the first shot very much, the overexposure of the outside really helps to convey the feeling of the sun on her hair and skin. Also the pose is very natural and confident.
The second shot is darker and that kills a bit the atmosphere IMHO.

BTW this is a good example shot for the HDR maniacs - sometimes doing something "wrong" like the exposure on the background, helps a lot the image feel.
In other words, giving perfect values to all parts of the photographs, as HDR does, may be the best scientific solution, but it is not always the best artistic solution.

Peter, whatever error in focusing would have to be with the photographer,
not the camera. I'm happy with 2's focus, the detail of the hair, individual
follicles, the skin of the eyes and its catchlights, the linked picture (which
I'm reworking to 1200pix) I'm the least happy with for I wanted the hair
to be in good focus and it isn't.

Orio, I agree with your comments on the overexposure in #1 and I too like
it best for the atmosphere.

Thank you both for your comments.

Apologies Bill if you thought I was commenting on the photographer! Smile It just looks to me as though the detail in her fingers is finer than in her eyes, which I imagined is what you focussed upon.

I can't say I'm a fan of the superimposed images method of focussing myself, probably due to my eyesight, and I never feel totally confident about the the accuracy of the rangefinder either. So whenever someone posts a RF pic, the first thing I look at is the focussing! Smile

Peter, thanks, so far I've gotten fairly good results with rangefinders, like
using them.

Thanks, Ron, appreciate your stopping by.

I've changed out the smaller file in the link and posted a larger one.

Well, I just agreed to shoot portfolios of Tricia (above) and her friend,
Becky:

sorry, not oversized, but you get the picture

They also have other girlfriends they would like me to shoot, but told them
just them, for now. I'm finally going to shoot something besides friggin'
fence posts. Laughing
