Was curious if anyone has this lens and what your experiences are with it, picture from the ebay sale:

87-205 zoom

Hopefully this camera body works:

Strangely enough, this is actually a rebadged 1960's Sun zoom that Topcon sold with its own styling.

The Topcon version is I believe marked as a 87-205 f/4.7 , the Sun Optical version is the very common 85-210 f/4.8

The Sun lens was made in several varieties, preset, semi-auto (with integrated pistol grip), and auto. I believe there was also a YS-mount variant later.

Perfomance seems variable on the Sun versions. Seems decent enough to me, but not outstanding. I like the Kiron-made 85-205 f/3.8 better, the Tokina 90-230 f/4.5 less, among its contemporaries.

Thanks, fortunately, this body works, used handheld meter, need to find those dang hearing aid batteries.

Very expired Kodak 400 (lady said it was bought somewhere in the 80's) using the RE 35mm/f2.8 lens:

I was over helping a friend with his computer woes and the other shots were at an abandoned farmhouse. I just had the
film developed, then scanned at home on Epson 4490. Some of these have bad color shifts, may convert to BW.

I like them much, don't need any conversion I think.

Attila, thanks, I couldn't get the right skin color for my friend so just BW'd it:

He's having a bad hair day squinting into the sun. lol

and yet another from the abandoned farmhouse

Really pleased with this outfit...

Very nice series Bill. I like it much. I'd put it in the Gallery.

Orio, thanks, since this was the first test roll using very expired film, thought it best to go here. Hope to have
some gallery pix from my trip to Bankhead National Forest.

Very nice Bill, the 35mm looks like another great Topcor.

The two BW are my favourites but the whole series is great.

Ian, thanks, this 35 close-focuses to 9", is fast becoming my favorite 35.
