This mountain tarn is nestled in a small cirque on the eastern side of the Olympic Mountains. I have NEVER seen anyone else here. I first visited this with my grandfather on my 12th birthday. We took a swim then, and in the half dozen times I've revisited, I always take an honorary swim! Cool

That looks like paradise!

Now, a gentle naked lady in the picture, and it would be really Eden! Laughing

Beautiful colour balance to the composition.

Absolutely gorgeous, Larry! Can we have a larger file next time? If
this is like the mountain lakes in my home area where the snow never
completely melts on the north side, even in August the water is somewhere between 42-45F! I remember diving into upper Roman Nose
lake and I thought my heart was going to stop, what a shock to the
system! Laughing

Edit: here's the lake, found a pic of it:

Whoever wrote the article isn't from my area, we call larch "tamarack"
after the Canadian French/Algonquin name.

And, here's from the opposite end of the lakelet.

Sorry for the smaller size, it's all I have in my hard drive at this time. I'll be making full size scans with the new V700.

The little island is about as far I get for swimming. The lake is very cold!

Laurence, I can imagine that the pictures are great, but they are very small. Perhaps you should reduce the frame.

Excellent shots Larry!
Like the added colours from the meadow in the first one. Forgot how gorgeous the Rockies are . . . Haven't been there in over 30 years.

I guess those meadow flowers aren't quite the same as Coneflowers, eh? Laughing

THANKS all of you!

Again, sorry about the small file; however, I'll be making large images soon with the new scanner.

Just wanted you to get a taste of some of the alpine scenery so very near to my home. Shocked
