Great set Orio, beautiful. I don't have a favourite yet, can I have another couple of years to make up my mind? This beats watching rugby, eh? Wink

And all other sports as well Smile But I'm sure I would love rugby if I just
could have a better understanding of what's going on.

Orio, why are there green skin tones in No. 10 and magenta in 16 & 18 etc? I guess it's coloured lighting but why it doesn't appear in all the shots?

Because the stage light guy did turn on different coloured spotlight in different times. They can impart a really dramatic change on colouring, as you can notice in the change between #19 and #20, the costumes are the same but until #19 you have blue and pink spotlights, then from #20 you have yellow/green and white spotlights. The costumes even seem different because of that.

Well, I like very much the "natural" lighting. I'd have had to have been there myself to see the benefit of the coloured lighting I think, but what a beautiful event it was! What was the music like?

Thanks Kathmandu!

Me too - or, at least, a mix like in some of the first photos, where the natural light provides the correct colour balance and the coloured spotlights only some "accents" that don't alter the balance much.

For the digital photographer, no benefit at all, because the coloured spotlights reveal one of the weaknesses of the digital sensors
(the fact that some colours, esp. red and blue, provide a much inferior resolution to the image).
If I used film I would have obtained better results for sure.
When I photograph, I hate coloured spotlights. They spoil a lot of what could be better photos. Sad

The music was worse than in the previous years. In the first years that I attended, they danced on historically "plausible" music, made with period instruments.
Now, probably because people prefers to see more oriental type belly dances than ancient dances, they use "fake" music, often of dubious taste, and also one Hollywood soundtrack Mad
This is the reason why I did not record any movie - with the photos you can imagine whatever music you like Smile
