Well, inspired by some other thread some "donut-bokehrama" shots
using a Celestron 5.6/300mm catadioptric mirror lens on my Lumix GH1.

A lot of people don't like the 'doughnut' highlights, but I do! I have a Celestron 2000mm f8 catadioptric which I must use again photographically; usually I use it for astronomy. It's not exactly a 'carry anywhere' lens! Smile

I wanted to specifically "produce" that kind of donut shaped bokeh since it was discussed that in Asia there is a liking for that. 2000mm - not necessarily a handheld lens... Wink

those samples have interesting donuts, not harsh at all and even harmonized in the flowers background

You always find something "different" even when in a rush. I do not really like those donuts (I find them quite distracting in several of these shots). But they are marvelous samples. Thanks

I have to say, you use the doughnut bokeh really well, congratulations on some great results!

Thanks guys, don't forget, this was done on purpose to use that special bokeh as an element is "designing an image", that does not necessarily mean I like it...it was mainly a test series. In some it gives interesting results I have to admit.

I wonder what UV or insect vision doughnut bokeh looks like Smile IR bokeh could be interesting too.

Well, that I had tested long ago already - it doesn't not work with that lens... Crying or Very sad

BUT my avatar what shot using a 500mm mirror lens which DOES transmit UV...
