From Budapest, thanks, Attila! Smile

Right now it's equivalent to sending a transistor radio to a gorilla, but I hope
to figure out how to change lenses, open the camera. I have hammers of
various sizes. Wink

Whenever I read "Synchro-Compur" on a lens, it makes me feel good Smile

Jussi and Orio, thanks, I have everything pretty much sorted, now.

Clean lines to the little guy:

The green ring closest to the body is turned counterclockwise (about 1/4) and cocks the shutter/advances the film.

a few flickr faves (there are many):

Most photos on the flickr Werra group are using the 50 Tessar.

Synchro Compur shutter? I've never seen a Werra with a WEST German shutter before - does anyone know more about why the East German makers were using West German components?

Alfred Klomp did some research about the Werra. Started with Vebur shutter (1/250), then Compur. After that came the Prestor RVS.

Thanks for that info, Minolfan. I think the German shutter versions must have been relatively uncommon in the UK.

Here too seems I did make quick check on my other Werras, none of them was Compur.

And that in a nut-shell (or is it nut-case) is why this place is so much fun! Laughing

Thanks, folks!

Jes, I dunno about that, my first roll is expired TMAX 100 (6/91) so will see what
shakes. Wink Thanks for the vote of confidence! Smile

Well, it werx! Smile This is TMAX 100>160 expired 6/91, using Thornton's homebrew
5+5.5, 20C. First two are with the Tessar 50, last two are with the Flek 35. Tessar
had the yellow filter on it.

crappy grey light, but was rather amazed at the OOD film

Attila, whaddaya think? Laughing Need to get some filters for the Cardinar
and Flek. The Flek I'll finish rounding out so it can accept filters. Really
like the results with the Tessar/yellow filter.

I was worried that there would be film overlap or something. The spring-loaded clockworks film advance
was very weird to use, but the frames had perfect spacing. Shocked

I never heard any issue on these cameras and I found only working ones , their built quality is top notch just like design.

I've found some poor condition ones, and had stayed away. But Bill! Wow that's nice roundness to them thar pics

Jussi, thanks! Focusing with this little tyke is verra easy! Smile

That first shot belongs in the over sized gallery. The features on the face have such a story to tell.

Very good results, and that is no real surprise because of camera and photographer Very Happy
Only risk was the OOD film.

Just a little story for you Bill. In 1966 my g/f at the time had a Werra I + Tessar. It looked such a "modern" design in those days, when we were into technology in a big way and watching Tomorrow's World on TV. My camera at the time was a Zenit 3M and the Werra was far more advanced than anything I'd ever seen before. I longed to hold it, squeeze it and press it (much more than I did the girl actually) but she wouldn't let me, so I ditched her. Laughing

Many congratulations on this fine set. The results look superb and I'm jealous.
