Last Friday, I had the privilege and pleasure of meeting my first ever non-Irish member of MFLenses.

Simon (Hexi is his member name) and some friends travelled from France to spend a few days here in Ireland. I had a word with the powers that be, and we arranged blue skies and sunshine - at least for their Dublin leg of the trip Wink

Bicycles were not allowed, so we had to do some walking...

Trinity College looks so much better when the sun is shining

Simon busy at work with his D700 and 1.2/50

It was only proper to get a shot of the two of us together...

Spring has most definitely sprung in Dublin

This guy could do with having a wash...

All that walking is good for developing a thirst

We were never far from some serious weaponry (Hasselblad 500C/M and Kiev 88 out of frame)...

Simon took to the Guinness like a duck takes to water. Naturally Wink

We only got to spend a few hours together, but I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Simon and showing him around my adopted hometown. And, I hope that someday soon I can visit the North of France and continue the friendship.

Simon took all the touristy shots of Dublin, and I'm sure he'll be sharing them with you upon his return Wink

All shots courtesy of the Canon EOS 5D and Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 1.4/35

Great to see Malachy, at long last Smile

But... Did his hair turn grey overnight? Shocked

Laughing

The hair's been greying for a long time now, Peter - my parents and all four of my grandparents were totally silver-grey before they hit 40 - I'll be 44 in May, so I'm holding out for another while Laughing

And just to convince those not of the Nikon faith ( kidding ) a portrait done with the 85mm 1.8 .... H @ 12800 iso.

Just added blacks. By the way it is a jpeg file, all high iso noise reduction is off : )

Oooh that Distagon looks NICE!

And I love Simon's second shot, which I shall affectionately refer to as "cardboard box head man" Cool

The man is apparently afraid of those 750 V overhead wires...
