Which would you put in the list of best bargain M42 or adaptable 24mm lenses? (for 35mm format, any max aperture)

My best 24 is the Zuiko 24/2.8, but the bargain is the Macro Revuenon 24/4: i bought it for 30 or 40 euro two years ago, and it's a very good lens.

4/24 aka Enna lithagon or Ennalyt

I didn't use it, but has very good fame.

2,8/24 hexanon is very good too.

I've just searched the macro revuenon 24/4 in eBay ... Shocked
there's one with a buy now price of 160 USD

is it overpriced, or I was very lucky two years ago?

Tamron 2.5/24 (Adaptall-2) - price should be approx. €60 to 80,-
Nikkor 2.8/24 - price should be under €100,-
Vivitar Wide Angle 2.0/24 MC - price should be under €100,-

And the real bargain would be a Hanimex 3.5/23. It's by no means as good as the 24mm lenses above, but still usable.
I sold mine for only €34,-!

Overpriced I think.

thanks -- who made the Revuenon lenses? Tomioka? More than one mfr?

Tomioka made same lenses for Revuenon 55mm f1.4 for sure , perhaps 1.2 too. I don't know any others.

Although i do not have experience myself, i read that the Sigma 24/2.8 is not bad. I can be bought for EUR30 - 50.

The 24/4, as said by estudleon, is made by Enna. It's marked "Lens made in W. Germany" on the barrel.

I think it's a Ennalyt, because AFAIK the Lithagon is a preset lens, and mine is an auto one.

Soligor 24mm f2.8 67mm filters.

cost me $41 on ebaY, not bad for a fast 24, yes?

i've only tried a few quick snapshots. it seems very good, okay sharp wide open, pretty sharp f8-11.

Revuenon's 50/1.8 is a Pentacon (Meyer) 50/1.8. I love it, it was one of my first 2 MF lenses (along with Helios 44M).

The rare Ensinor 2.8/24 macro is very good and price is around 10-20gbp. Slight vignette at 2.8, but not a problem with digi.

A 24mm is on my (longish-term) to-buy list (after a 5D), so I've read this thread with interest. I had been thinking of the Nikkor 24mm 2.8; I read somewhere that the Olympus Zuiko is better, but it's also significantly more expensive. How does the quality of the other 24's at a similar or lesser price compare?
The Revuenon/Enna/lithagon has been mentioned, also the Tamron and Vivitar. How do they compare (sharpness - especially 'real' corners, distortion, flare)?

Spiratone 24/2.8

from ebaY for $30 (!) on 11-23-2008

haven't tried it yet (need om-ef adapter)

looks similar in construction to ultra-wide Spiratone 18/3.5.

I've just scored a 24mm Sigma XQ Filtermatic.

Hopefully it will be worth a shot - opinions vary, some say the Filtermatic 24 was sharp edge to edge, others say it's pretty awful, so there is probably a degree of copy variation at work. The XQ range was Sigma's more expensive pro /semipro offering, so I hope some attention was paid to quality control.

I did tested personnaly 24mm f2 Zuiko, Yashica ML 24mm , Nikkor 24mm f2 AIS, Nikkor 24mm f2.8 AIS,Vivitar 24mm f2, Kiron 24mm f2 etc .

From all of them my favourite was Nikkor 24mm f2.8 AIS.
