You got a great deal for your money.
Or rather, this is bit of massive luck.

$150 was a good price for the 25mm alone.

The 85mm 1.8 is, I believe, a rare lens, and the price of that would be pretty high -

The only recent auction on ebay went for $850 - but that was in excellent condition, with original hood, etc.

Yes the 85 is a rare gem. I have never seen photos with it but the rest of their line-up goes from very good to stellar, so I would expect good things.

Gote, congrats on getting some wonderful lenses for a very good deal.

Indeed, this not a deal, this is a steal!! Congrats, took me years to find that 85mm alone and the rest are great lenses, too!!

Wow, I envy you... This was a real steal.

Please, share your shots with the 85mm!

Only about a thousand of those 85mm were built
Owners rave about it...... i wasn't that lucky....

The 25mm is a great lens, MFD of 16cm..... one of the best of its time.

The 35mm is a favorite of many members here, with good reason.
I'm selling mine because of faster lenses i own, but most keepers in this FL i have were taking with this lens.

The 135mm ain't worse than any other 135mm of its time.

Some went as far as to compare them to Leitz lenses....
I wouldn't go there but i would add that they're easy to service and will work as new when you do service them.

Great find !

$150 would, most often, only get you a 135mm...

Big deal. Congrat! Which adapter did you order for your Nex-7?

I would put Topcon/Topcor at the top end of Japan lens manufacturers, their best can IMO compete with Leica and Zeiss, I base that on my 90/2 APO ASPH and my Topcor RE 85/1.8

Thanks everybody.
I ordered the first adapter from England that i could find on ebay so i'm not sure what brand it is.
Hopefully it will arrive next week.
There were original hoods to all the lenses except the 35. That is a takumar.
The 25 mm lens came with a full set of filters and also a filterholder for the front.

The 85-ka is really very rare and very expensive. I had a silver 35 , 58 (1.Cool and 135 mm. Used on a crop camera. Sold but later regretted. Recently bought at auction black 58mm 1.8. Did some test shots on a full frame camera, I liked it.

Beautiful camera, and very nice lenses, especially the 85mm of course.
I never had the chance to test a RE Topcor 1.8/85mm, and i really look forward to see more sample from it!

Based on the generally good critics of Topcor RE lenses here in this forum I've bought some of those lenses as well already a couple of years ago and they are certainly not bad considering also their time of manufacturing. However, having compared them to some other lenses I can't really share the enthusiasm on them.

As Mir already stated, I won't compare them to Leitz as well. That's IMHO still another league and e.g. my older Leitz Elmar 135/4 outperforms the newer Topcor RE 135/3.5 by far in every respect.

My judgment is based on my own lenses (58/1.8, 100/2.8, 135/3.5 and 300/5.6) and pictures posted here from other members and somewhere else.

Nevertheless, the shown set for USD 150 was certainly a great bargain and in any case a very good buy. Congratulations!

Don't know where to write. Can someone come in handy. For sale at auction eBay ( not me the seller) black Re Auto-Topcor 35mm F2.8. Wanted to participate but decided that he is too little will to use it. If someone buy leave feedback about feelings. http://www.ebay.com/itm/RE-Auto-Topcor-35mm-2-8-Black-for-topcon-exa-mount/253179793970?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

50mm long been interested in the GN series. What is the difference between this earlier 58mm ?

PostPosted: Sat Oct 07, 2017 1:41 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

Re GN series. I read up on it a while back when one showed up on e-bay. Its a later era lens. It uses one of the radioactive components (thorium or lanthanum I don't recall which). It is apparently susceptible to "goo" on the inside as some component in the interior of the lens degrades and gums up the blades. The photos I saw were nice but not remarkably better than the much cheaper and much more readily available 58mm 1.4. I would buy it only if looking for a collector piece.

The GN(Guide Number) was designed for flash metering, it was a new design @ 50mm vs 58, and was multi coated.
