The best info' on Soligor numbers is in the Soligor 28 thread, and the numbers are different to Vivitars.

Yes.
But made by Sun and maybe similar.
Doesn't matter as I was looking for a 2.8 but could not find one at a respectable price when I was looking.
I settled on the 3.3 and have been very pleased with it.
I know that you will give the 2.8/200 a thorough vetting when it arrives and I am looking forward to your results as always.
Happy snaps

It is a Makinon OH. Soligor CD series codes differs from older Soligors. Also one additional number with CD numbering: Perhaps 3 for SUN, 80 for year of production. Here Makinon labeled 3.3/200mm:

OK, that makes sense.
Thanks for the information.
I am looking forward to the images for the 2.8/200 Soligor, as there is little reported elsewhere.

My newly acquired soligor 400 6.3 is identical as far as I can tell to the 9xxxxx (attributed to kino) one I had previously however as you can see its serial is KA163xxx.

UPDATE Just for interests sake here is a close up of the interesting star shaped aperture formed by the iris. In practical terms doesn't amount to much; this at ~ f16. At f6.3 - f9-10 the iris forms a very round aperture.

I just received a 105 2.8 T2(Canon) mount. This lens is really tiny . I ordered a T2-Nex adapter to mount it on a A7.
First shots tonight with the FD adapter.

The lens (10 euros ! )

I looked through the whole thread, but maybe I missed it - has the 2.8/200 been reported on yet? In other searches I have see two different styles; I have this one, but is currently on the slow boat to me.

Has the slow boat arrived yet Micheal?
I am keen to hear of your impressions of this lens.
Cheers

Yes, I was puzzled that a standard lens wearing the Soligor label might appear for .................. Minolta(?)
I wonder who this lens was marketed to as most camera owners already had the standard lens that came with the camera.

It looks equal for sure! Very Happy
Soligor never stops surprising, ha ha Laughing

Minolta had also a 50 1.7.
There are different options:
The Soligor is a fake f1.8
The Minolta is actually a f1.8
The Minolta is a 1.8 reduced to f2 ( like the 55mm Takumar) Question

1- Look at the ring stop
The max aperture position (the pointer) for soligor lens is at ~f:2 and on the minolta at ~f:2.4
That is certainly the TRUE opening

2- I will think that the soligor is not from minolta but from seagull (china) which made a minolta copy (body and lens)
I think that because front engraving does not seem of very high quality

Watching my lens , I do not see this difference. Perhaps are you right . It must be a good copy ( not only cosmetic ) because the IR focusing mark is at the same place.

PS It seems that Seagull produced some Minolta under licence. The 50mm was a 1.8 . Bravo !

Funny what "New Old Stock" items do to me when i see them.... it's hard to resist these brandnew and shiny old things... especially at extremely low prices!

I bought a box full of "left-overs" and this came with it: Soligor S/M 28-70mm (MD) and a Soligor 1.7/50 (PK). Took a few quick shots with that zoom, first impressions look good! I had ever seen a standard 50mm Soligor prime before though.
