Here are some sample shots taken with it.
The metal barrel is a little loose and it makes the diaph change a little when focusing/unfocusing.

1- Flower

2- Landscape

3- With extension tube : Fly

4- With extension tube : splendor and decadence

Seems to have a good bokeh from what I can see. Probably a good lens for portraits.

it is a very sharp lens, sharper than my personal fav lens, the Takumar 50m f1.4

A wonderful lens way better than it's cheap price. Definitely one of my favorites - and your photos are a big reason why!

the 1.8/55 is well known for its bokeh. despite being the 'kit' lens of the day. wide open is where this lens shines. of course stopped down, any Takumar shines. Very Happy

Thanks everybody.
I had it for 15,50€... so, yes, definitely it is better than its price.

Here it is :

The construction quality of the earlier Takumars tends to be better - the plastic is well made, don't get me wrong, but can have 'trim' level stuff go wrong - distance scale loose etc.
But really, it's a matter of taste, what look and feel you like, and how much coating

15 euros is a very good price! I paid 35 euros for mine, and it is definitely worth it. One of my favorite lenses.

Hi Oliver,

very nice set. I have a Tak 1,8/55 also bought with a Spotmatic II as a kit lens, but never used it. I will give it a try within the next days.

Really very nice pictures specially with the fly. I remember my first post here and the nice conversation with you. The area on the Landscape, is this in "Pas de Calais", near Boulogne sur Mer.

Yes Rolf.
This landscape is a part of what I see from my home.
I always say with my wife that we are very lucky to live here. We are near a village, not too far away from town, we have a forest on one side of the house, this beautiful landscape on the other side and we can see the sea between two hills.
Many people think that Pas de Calais in France is flat, like in Flanders, and that the only hills we can see are artificial, made with Coal wastes.
As you see, in my region, we have hills and valleys, even if altitude is not very high.

You're welcome... Smile
