Yes looks pretty same size I never heard about this camera. How do you like it?

I quite like it. It's nothing really special but the lens seems to be a rather good one.
I have not shot a lot with it, so I cannot really judge on it, though.

It is very difficult to find anything about this cam in the internet.

Yes, you have a real rarity, I saw many folders in last free years , but I don't remember for any.

Handsome one dof! Another unknown one to me. Did you try it out ?

Cool camera Daiichi is a store chain in Japan that's like Radio Shack on
steroids selling all kinds of electronic equipment including high end audio.

Kinda doubt there's a connection, though.

Thank you Bill!

Daiichi translates to "Big One" more or less. Cute camera, though. Any idea who made it? I used to own a Ricoh 6x6 folder that looked something like it.

I've become interested in this subject. However, I can't compromise on the lens speed and square format.

Thus, I want:

6x6, 80mm f2.8 (or similar speed).

What are my options?

I've found:

•Super Baldax + Enit 80/2.8 (or Baltar 80/2.9 --- good enough)
http://www.certo6.com/cameras/balda-super-baldax-baldalux-baldafix

•Certo 6 + CZJ Tessar 80/2.8
http://www.certo6.com/cameras/certo-6

•Super Ikonta + Tessar 80/2.8
http://elekm.net/pages/cameras/sikonta532-16.htm

•Franka Solida III + Radionar 80/2.8
http://www.certo6.com/cameras/franka-solida

Anything else I should be looking out for?

Nice can I have one with this lens but older Franka II I think . This was dirt cheap vs it's quality.

I have to say that the cameras in this thread are some of the nicest looking ones I've ever seen!

Yep. It's totally making me want to go out and buy another medium format folder.

This guy refurb's folders. He's a bit pricey but his site has some good info.
http://www.certo6.com/

I had the folder bug a while ago. Loved the Voigtlander Bessa II. Not pocket size though (6x9).

I would use the link for info. He does a great job replacing with different-colored leather
bellows, but beyond that, it's a gamble. Nice find and the Radionar is indeed a Cooke triplet!

If we're talking 6x6 folders, I don't see how a camera could be much smaller than the Agfa Isolette III I acquired recently. It may not be shirt-pocketable, but it is easily jacket-pocketable.

And a damn fine camera , perhaps finest what you can buy for low price. I have two Isolette, both are very , very good.

This is just about the most wicked, pernicious thread I've come across at any photography forum. Laughing

I found it just as I was working through the notion that whilst a Contax G2 rig might be nice, it would simply replace my Mamiya 7 rig in looking good, taking lovely photos (hopefully), but not providing me with enough engagement with the mechanical processes of using the equipment to take a photo.

Consequently, I've seen the light and now am watching at least eight small folders on EBay with one or two sniped. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I did have a Mamiya 6 folder but either a poor-ish example or I wasn't ready to really spend time getting to know it. Maybe now that I've got to grips with my 645 photography I can try a folder again.

By the by, which would have been the last folding cameras to be produced - and I mean the type of portable camera referred to in this thread and not socking great big plate cameras?
