this shot was 1/125 and the wide open was 1/800
If I am not wrong this would mean 2,5 stops difference - so it should have been something like a f/3.5
is this calculation correct?

This lens and the 5DII make a killer combination.
By looking at this crop (hand held), I feel like it is not much
distant anymore from medium format film results.
P.S. This copy is as old as me! (produced 1961 to 1964)

Does anybody know what filter thread diameter the Biotar 75 "fat type" ?
It looks like it could be 62 but I don't have filters or caps handy to try.
I need both a front cap and a hood for it.

They are, I like them better than Contax Planar 85/1.4.
You were lucky I didn't come to that fair or we'd have to fight LOL, but considering I already own two of them I'm happy you got one

58mm filter thread for hoods/clip caps or 60mm push on for cap.
The metal hood from an Orestegor/Pentacon 4/200 fits and works well. You can still use a 60mm push on cap or a 58mm clip cap with this hood as it's the same external diameter as the lens filter ring and the hood is also ribbed internally which allows a clip cap to grip and stay on.

I have made another test shot today and I am more and more impressed.
This one is on the 5DII at 50 ISO
Subject is Elderberry (Sambucus nigra)
whole resized:
100% crop - note the rendering of leaf texture even with reflecting light:
100% crop - note the tiny hair under the leaf stems:
100% crop - note what I would define the painterly quality of the bokeh:
I am more and more impressed. What did I lose not to have this lens so far?
