#1, 2 and 4 look excellent to me, well modeled with highlights and shadows.

#3 looks a bit strange, did you use a fill flash on it?

No but maybe I should have done. The sun was very bright and I set the exposure to avoid too much clipping of the highlights. This gave me quite a dark picture and #3 is my poor attempt to rescue it. In hindsight, I should have placed myself so that the flower was in my shadow and then used fill-in flash.
