BTW, I'd like to see some pics of the lenses and through them. Have you found a way to mount them yet?

I'm not Klaus, but a quick bit of info on "d" or "e" specialised lenses. These letters probably refer to the wavelength for which they are optimised:

d-line (yellow Sodium line, 589,2938nm)
e-line (green Mercury line, 546,0740nm)

The M=1/5 probably refers to the magnification for which it is optimised, like the Nikon Nikkor-O 55/1.2:

I was about to link to Klaus's site but his sample is the older version, without the red M=1/5 on the front ring.

Many thanks! I picked up these weird lens in the hope that I could learn something. I am not very interested in those newly cranked out limited editions. Laughing

I will take some photos and post them FYI. These lenses have unsual mounts, so that I haven't tried them yet.

Best Regards

Here is another strange Chinese macro lens 19mm 1:1.7. It focus from 0.1m-0.5m only, and aperture stops down to F22. It has a M46.5 screw mount.

And here is the 16mm 1:1.6 with a letter d on the front ring. It focus from 0.3m to infinate. It has a M35x0.75 screw mount. perture stops down to F22.

I will take a picture of the 50mm F2 later. Smile

They both look like movie lenses (film camera) to me, not like micro reproduction lenses. Can be clearly seen on the second one, since it makes no sense to step down to f22 for such a lens (diffraction)!! The rear clearance will be rather short, this would also explain why you can't focus to infinty. Sorry!

P.S.: have you ever heard the term "Hijack a thread" - this is exactly what happens here and I would recommend to open up a new topic and not divert the original thread to where we have gotten now. THIS has nothing to do with a Luminar 100mm ... just common curtesy in forums!

Do you need to achieve infinity focus?

Yes, I have this monster in mint condition without center filter and it would be fine if you have hellicoid for that to achieve infinity focus.
The image quality should be the best cause of his high resolution

Kind regards

Unfortunately I have never developed such a mounting (but for many others), so I can't help you on that one. I will have a look at that should I find the time to.

[Sorry for the hijacking on your thread, also in the name of the hijackers, I will better myself...]

Dear Klaus,

Since a lens expert was here(you), I was in a hurry to ask questions, and had no idea this would divert the topic. I am sorry, but please don't think I hijacked the thread on purpose. Embarassed

Then thank you for your kind help. A big Smile I may ask more questions with a new topic.

Hi Klaus, thanks for your "open eyes", if you can find it, I have a big interest.
I guess, this lens might be the highest resolution lens ever made by Zeiss.
One pic is uploaded in my flickr.

Best regards

Not really, I have Zeiss lenses which do 1500lpm (!!) and that one reaches about 360lpm - sorry to disappoint....

And you can't "find" such a mount, you have to make one. If you need one, let me know, I have a professional source for that, not cheap but excellent craftsmanship.

Here Click here to see on Ebay is one really sharp lens, but at a little obnoxious price (contact me if you need same cheaper!)

Here the lens data from my site:

Klaus,

What price is obnoxious? For rare items (well, reasonably rare) it is hard to determine the right price. I would say that this is a good price if I were to sell mine, and a less than nice one if I were looking for one. If I were looking for one and needed it now, it is nice to have the option.

I agree that the lenses kievuser showed pictures of are not micro reduction lenses. I would still like to see pictures of the 50/2 lens, either in this hijacked thread or in another. It may well be used for similar applications as the Nikkor-O 55/1.2.

Hi Klaus, I had this lens 2 piece , which you mentioned.
Unfortunately I was disappointed with. After I had the first copy , I tried the second , but the lens didn't show me what I expected.

Kind regards

Sure, it of course all depends on which side of the table you are! Wink Wink
