I need help identifying this lens. I found on the net also the matching one too however I do not know also nothing about it too. Does someone here has some practical experience with this one? Maybe test shoots.

The lens has on it the following: Dimension f=135mm 1:3.5 No. 730373 Made in Japan

I was thinking that it was made by Komine but didn't find anything... Rolling Eyes

Prinzflex 135mm 3.5 looks exactly like one I have...

Here are pictures attached:

I had the same lens with an "Weltblick" label

I guess it's Cosina but I'm not sure at all

It looks like it shares details with the 23mm lens I just got: http://forum.mflenses.com/those-3-5-23mm-lenses-t53707.html

It could be said that rear is very similar to Tomioka 100mm clones (check last photo on that page where 4x screw is nicely visible): http://forum.mflenses.com/viewtopic.php?t=41307&start=15

Question still remains: is Tomioka responsible just for the optics inside the lens and if so for which lenses of the series? Or did Tomioka produce whole series including lens body.

In this series we can easily include Revuenon 3.5/200mm with leather grip: http://allphotolenses.com/lenses/item/c_2008.html

It looks a lot like my 135/3.5 konicas, But then again they are both 135/3.5.
But both the focus scale and markings are almost identical. But don't listen to me, it's just an observation.

The closest mach that I found was Prinzflex that looks identical to lens I have.
Lens I have is in like new condition, no scratches or anything and the best is that I got it for 10$ + tax or 11.30$. While I do wait for adapters to arrive from Hong Kong and afterwords I will take some photos to clarify the quality.

Browsing the net it looks like that this lens was made by Tomioka for Canadian Retail Shop (do not remember the name - refernce is on the net somewhere) which has been purchased by Black's. It has very high quality feel that reminds me on Carl Zeiss lenses for Contax (from West Germany). While someone here mention that one german webpage has some info (I understand, read and write german, but I am not German) I checked there too and it looks like this was indeed made by Tomioka somewhere after Yashica took over and not sure if it was prior Carl Zeiss taking over or afterwards.

Need to do further research on this but serial number who starts with 73 and 4 numbers after should be made by Tomioka for Cosinon.

Many of these Japanese lenses are looking extremly similar, no matter if Tomioka, Tokina, Konica, Cosina, Yashica...!
So only saying it looks similar to my XXmm FXX made by XX is not reliable

I guess they got their parts for casing from the same supplier

Here's another example of similar looking lenses from another thread (left is Tokina, right is Komine)

If you look closely you can see the mount is identical to the lens I posted. Note the position of the screws relative to the aperture pin, as well as the pins that are part of the internal workings of the aperture - and the position of the auto/manual switch. They even appear to the have an identical aperture ring.

A Japanese site gave the maker as Tomioka, assuming that is correct then your lens is almost certainly also one.

They do look similar but the aperture ring is reversed, if you look closely... Casing might be the same but internals I don`t think so.

I believe that you are right... Anyway I didn`t pay a fortune for it and if the picture quality is good it does not matter from where or who was making them.. Laughing

I guess that I do need to wait for those adapters to arrive...

Chinon/Chinonflex?

Reminded me of my Chinon 200/3.5 which I am too lazy to dig out right now. Seems to look like this:

It's Revuenon i am mentioning above. Only that Revuenon was available with leather grip (usually found on Tomioka branded lenses).

The lenses in the thread you've linked are not Tomioka but Sun. Here is the Tomioka 100mm f2.8 lens http://forum.mflenses.com/tomioka-100mm-f2-8-t49746.html

The lens in this thread indeed shares some details with other Sun made lenses but on the other hand has some obvious differences with other Sun lens I saw before. For example I never saw Sun lens with exposed retaining ring like this lens has on its front.

Doesn't look like a Sun to me. Looks like a Chinon to me.

Yes, this Chinon is Sun made too. I saw Revuenon exacly identical to this Chinon and I have similar Soligor with only different focus grip.

Interesting. So is the Prinzflex here: http://www.yaotomi.co.jp/blog/used/2009/09/prinzflex-auto-reflex-100mm-f28-m42.html
SUN or Tomioka?

Then SUN would also be logical solution to Beroflex / Berolina / Elicar / Alpex / Universar silver line:

This looks also exact like mine but silver... The only thing is that this one does not have extending hood and one I have has one. Same letters, screws position, etc.

Did SUN make it or someone else?

Wow, the "Universar 300/4.5" 's little brother.

The pipe is metal and the rings plastic, I suppose.

Dimitry would you please share some info on your SUN references. It's quite a discovery. There are a lot of lenses that could now be distinguished as SUN. And if i may say these are mostly good to very good lenses.

Need to modify myself here...

The number 6 on the aperture rings is different, therefore not sure if it is Sun Optical Lens while all Sun made lenses have the same numbers. The good thing is that adapters should be soon here and I can test it.

Here is the list with Sun made lenses: http://www.ephotozine.com/equipment/manuals/Sun-Opt/201

There is no indication about 135mm 3.5 lens there... I am a bit skeptic that Sun made it.
Also the missing collapsible hood is missing on Sun lenses. Confused

Just received adapter and here are some samples, taken with Olympus Pen E-PL1, hand-shoot, wide open at 3.5, no PP / straight from camera just resizing:

100% crop

100% crop

Opinions please... Crop of the pictures randomly taken. If everyone wish I can crop others too. Just let me know.

Nice samples. I had this lens open & apart. It's Sonnar (Zeiss) copy with thick large chunk of glass inside
that can rarely be found in third party lenses. Here few full frame samples (sorry to steal your topic a bit):
