Hi all

i've found some nice tevidon, but it looks like just lens head
missing iris and focus helicoid

thinking about getting this to work with m4/3
this lens probably doesn't cover 35mm frame?

any ideas guys?

Welcome to the forum! I quote your post because a new user's first post can never contain pictures. From now on you can post them.

This is an anti-spam measure. From now on you will not have problems posting pictures.

From what it's worth: the lens seems to be incomplete indeed but I don't have experience with this particular Tevidon. I'm sure someone else will chime in soon.

Welcome!

Perhaps a projector lens?
Enlarger lenses normally have a diaphragm.

This is only the front lens element block. The rear block is missing, as well as the aperture and the focusing mount.

Don't wast you money on that, as it is not even optically complete!!

Thanks kds315

is any chance to use this on 5dmk2 without serious lens surgery?

p.s.
kds315, i'm going next month to Frankfurt am Main for few days, is flohmarkt a good place to find some nice lens specimens?

Not if you want focus beyond about 60 cm. You'll need to lose about 2,5 cm of metal from the back of the Tevidon to get to infinity on a Canon Eos. That requires serious surgery, as shown here (and this doesn't even include aperture control):

You're welcome. Also have a look at the Sony NEX cameras - you may appreciate the larger sensor.

Another difficulty is the large diameter of the lens close to the C mount (ca 40mm). C mount adapters are recessed and only allow a certain diameter, often about 37mm. This one is wide enough:

This one

specifically claims it is wide enough but they are lying - the max diameter is only 37mm. I'd advise against any seller that puts this in their listing if you want to use wider diameter C mount lenses:

Features:
1.100% brand new and high quality
2.Allow focus to infinity, actually go beyond infinity a little
3.Lenses with max. near-thread diameter of 42mm all can fit without
any modification
4.Lenses with near-thread diameter larger than 42mm (and smaller than
44.5mm) still can fit without any modification, although will not focus
to infinity (but it will allow focus for up to 40 ~ 50 meters)
5.For some lenses, there will be vignetting with varied extent

Sony nex is the best option, because of sensor size, but i hate zombie shooting style
Panasonic...hmmm, i just don't like them
I think about olympus VF-2 viewfinder+ cheap used e-pl1 body only
in the future i will keep VF-2 and buy better body
or olympus will show e-p3 with built-in good EVF

OK, let's go back to my Tevidon 1.9/35
i did research and found some strange informations

I think my 1.9/35 is fine, this is not the front optical block of "regular tevidon"
My tevidon is for PENTAKTA A100, which was favorite tool of STASI Shocked

tevidon 1.9/35 (enlargement x27.5) together with Zeiss Dokumar 5.6/47 (enlargement x20) are stock lenses for Pentakta A100

p.s. and I could be wrong, what do you guys think?

Does that camera take CS lenses? D mounts?

Well done, anyway!

I hesitate to disagree with the earlier posters, but you may be right.

It may have been set up for infinity focus and sharp from 30 metres or so out? No smaller aperture necessary if dedicated to spying.

Very odd find, well done! Any more of those available?

Ep-1 body went for $250 recently in Oz! I have one and they are ideal for manual lenses.

Panasonic seem to be edging ahead, though! They will eventually incorporate IBIS and with their video.... I am patient and wait for further drops in prices.

That's the only one image of this misterious machine, all i know, Pentakta A100 is for microfilming.

the question for Tevidon owners: is 4 digit serial number on the barrel side occurs on all copies?

PostPosted: Fri Apr 08, 2011 1:11 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

ok, problem is solved
I've found another complete lens
I was wrong about Pentakta, my extra front optical block is part of the regular Tevidon indeed.(I'm still curious, how's Pentakta version looks)
Now, new mission is to complete all with "zebra design"

Nice one, congrats! And you'll see soon, that it is an excellent performer!!
Just needs a few mm machined off to fit a standard c-mount adaptor for infinity.
