the optical part looks the same with Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* 85/2, 6/6 formula. I post a picture to show how the formula looks like.

the formula on the box is a kind of graphic design, it's not the formula of this lens.
Designers say that cemented groups may cause some problems. for this lens, flare are under control becouse of the multi coatings. _________________ HI~, Folks. |

I see what you mean. This "Sonnar" is actually double-Gouss, or Planar design. The "Sonnar" part is just a trademark, which is misused here I believe. Thus the Mitakon lens is actually a classic double-Gauss, Planar type design. _________________ List of lenses |

Didn't go out with it yet, can only post a few test (meaning: test) shots. Click for larger size. 2nd image demonstrates field curvature. All three taken wide open. It's still evident that the lens is quite soft wide open, but has nice contrast and colors (and huge field curvature).
Compared to Jupiter-9, the Jupiter retains more fine detail wide open (meaning higher spatial resolution), while the Mitakon has much higher contrast. Field curvature is much better controlled with the Jupiter, too. Bokeh is subjective; it's more predictable (and smoother) with the Mitakon.

Just did some research myself and apparently it actually is PK-A. Besides, there seems to be a silver version availiable.

Hmm, your sample seems quite a bit sharper than mine. QC variation or Mitakon has improved the performance of this lens? _________________ List of lenses |

These samples are shot by Mitakon 35/2, not 85/2. but the 85/2 lens is more sharper than this lens at wide-open.
I will post some samples shot by 85/2 this evening for you. I can also provide machine-direct jpgs to you if you want to see. _________________ HI~, Folks. |
